RIp ,Tony so may wonderful memories, listing to his songs&,great times in the City by the Bay.!Rich remember we want to See Billy Joel in San Jose great preference!
One of the "old guard greats".... when they made music, as opposed to what I consider just noise today.... just my opinion... everyone else can have theirs
Mr. Bennett, I forgive you for once saying that WW2 "Was not worth it". Any Vet who was actually there may have a different take on that history. I have even forgiven JoanBaez for "liking" Socialism. I remain grateful to Joan for the way she sang "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" I can still hear her superb soprano virbrato. That's ART!
Great singer, well respected! RIP

DeleteI had an impromptu lunch with him and Susan back in 2000, the nicest and most humble 'star' you could ever imagine.
ReplyDeleteI was impressed with how Mr. Bennett collaborated with musicians old and young this century -- Gaga and more.
