Flash Alert Wednesday: Chris Licht OUT at CNN; Noelle Bellow a Breath of Fresh Air at KRON; Moore Replacement Gets My Vote; Vicki Liviakis Safe Choice? Nope; KTVU Dark Days; Somerville Crazy Resume Factoid

CHRIS LICHT OUT at CNN: the official word has arrived.
Good news, finally.
The guy never registered any gravitas for me. He also looks like he's about ten years old. Never a good sign.

CNN has no hope as a traditional talk/opinion cabler--they need to go back to their original design: 24/7 news, breaking news, interviews and a few opinion shows. Traditional cable with a few primetime shows. Simple stuff.

NO, Noelle Belllow is not a perfect anchor, who is? But KRON can do its viewers a favor with her as a most capable replacement for Pam Moore.

As a reader pointed out: she's a breath of fresh air. --I'm si/ck of the usual banal, safe anchor tripe. Bellow seems to me an exciting up and comer with a great, crisp delivery and awesomwe look. She has a nice appearence and would be a dynamic presence at KRON's nighttime news block.

^KRON will replace Moore with a woman, mark my words, that's cool. The conventional choice would be a safe pick like Vicki Liviakis but that ain't happening, I don't think.

Vicki already has a PM anchor gig but is she the futu.re at 900 Front? Probably not.

*KTVU --talk about down in the dumperville! It's out and out a DEPRESSING zone of dreary-central at Fox2. The natives are restless, again, and the yearning for yesterday is a prime topic.

They miss the old days.

And this all was before the Frank Somerville latest drama.

*Add Somerville: a few weeks ago, Somerville quietly submitted his resume to all the Bay Area TV News stations, except one. Guess which one?

    1. Heenan is too old, dry and boring. Vicki does not need the aggravation. Bellow needs more seasoning. Teresa is a better reporter than anchor. Justine Waldman would be interesting.

    2. Justine Waldman is a train wreck. Sometimes I'm not sure if she can even speak English.

  4. Bellow? Only because Nexstar likes to keep it Bellow budget. Cheap and green is how they like ‘em at KRON.

  5. “They miss the old days.”

Funny, because I worked there then and all they did was bitch. Now it’s the good old days?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Noelle has a lot fewer miles on her than Vicki so she's the obvious pick. Vicki only has a few laps left in her, Noelle has got plenty of reserves.

  7. OK, Noelle Belllow is certainly not perfect to look at, with her heavy weight. Now, that being said, she has a good face, and she does a very good job with the anchoring. Regarding her weight though, and I can't believe I am writing this, but you know, while she is overweight, it is all in the right places, and she looks pretty dang good! And this is coming from someone who very much prefers, petite Asian girls! So I DO very much like Noelle Belllow being put into a leading anchor chair. I also agree that she is more of the future than Vicki Liviakis.

  8. KTVU is the best, always has been and always will be. It’s #1 in the market and that won’t be changing anytime soon. That’s a fact. Jack.

So all you naysayers and haters can suck it.

    3. I pray to god this comment was left by Amber or her flunky, Mr. Simone Aponte, and not some pathetic bloke in his basement who’s been brainwashed into believing KTVU is the be-all, end-all.

      Delete
    4. 5:04, either Amber, Simone or one of those members of the general public who shamelessly embarrass themselves while ooohing and ahhhing over KTVU on those ‘Power of 2’ and “zip trip” commercials.

    5. Misgendering Simone Aponte: lame.

    6. I'm am liking Stephanie Lin, she's starting to grow on me, clear, precise and knows how to dress (unlike Empress Ming Sze) Lin's going places like Olivia Horton, use to watch KTVU but lately Kron 4's making it interesting

  9. CNN is a hot steaming pile. Licht is the moron who promoted that wretch Kaitlin Collins after her town hall debacle. Dumpster fire!

  10. Vicki is a beautiful woman but I believe is in her late 60's now and a few years away from 70. Same Heenan (mid to late 60's). They may be retiring soon as well. An outside hire like Heather Holmes would cement that station.

    3. False per public records 2:17.

    4. @2:17 you got that right. That’s how they like it. In both directions.

    1. KRON is bleeding money…Pam’s retirement is a cost cutting move…they are not going to get any big name anchor…KRON pays peanuts! As a CW it will only get worse….Probably get a KRON News produced out of Fresno or Sacramento…

  12. CNN dug their own grave. John Malone - their billionaire owner/controller/string puller wanted to grab folks who watch Fox; didn’t work. Ratings way way way down. Maybe if they used some BS like “fair and objective” it might have suckered the Fox watchers into staying awhile.
Either way, good riddance to bad rubbish. Licht licked Malone’s nuts, but failed to see the absurdity and ineffectiveness of his actions.

    1. They can just go back to the old tagline, "The most trusted name in news", bring in more constipation face anchors that neither smile or show emotion...just look like they're constipated at all times, and cater to the far left. That should bring back the dozens of viewers they had before.

      Delete
    2. God, they were my go to eons ago, anything breaking it was the most comprehensive informative reporting and no bias and honest; sadly it's a shell of its former self, bias, opinionated, bad interviews, need I say more?

      Delete
    3. They - CNN - sure catered to the Far Left with their orange turd infomercial. Laughably stupid move, even for a suck up like Licht. That’s the kind of propaganda that passes for news these days. Pathetic.

    4. @ 8:17, no kidding, do you see the garbage coming from so called morning joe and his wife, and garbage from msnbc's Joy Reed, ABC, NBC, CBS? Don't even mention the View's show, Barbara never intended the show's going in that direction, Fox has the balls to fire O'reilly and Carlson

  13. Over the past few years, the nightly news has been a giant pot of doom and gloom stew. Noelle Bellow adds a much needed ray of light. She speaks clearly, transitions flawlessly between her colleagues, and just emits positivity. KRON would be making a big mistake if they let some other network pry her away.

  14. Vicki and Catherine should get the spot. Both veteran and long time anchor, well known and respected. Ms Bellow, nah!!

    1. Actually when Pam asked him if he'd stopped drinking he sort of dodged the question, admitting he'd had "a beer at a Shark's game" and saying he wasn't quite ready yet to quit drinking. He implied he had it under control, which obviously he doesn't.

  20. Hey Rich, something you may want to investigate...maybe nothing's there, but I see Sara D is anchoring the 5 at KPIX, and she's dressed a good deal more professionally--dark blazer with a white blouse underneath, nothing funky. I wonder if they're trying a new, more conservative angle with her. Or maybe it's nothing and her clubbing clothes are just all at the hipster dry cleaners, who knows, but it's worth asking around about.

    1. The end of newscast last night around 11:30 was her talking about how ChatGPT or whatever it is called can change the F word to Duck in texts. Her 2 male anchors on each side feet apart having a good time laughing as she played it up. Real classy sexual innuendoes.

      Delete
    2. I've noticed that she is dressing more conservatively as well-I long for the old wardrobe with the short skirts and high slits-bring them back Sara!!

      Delete
    3. More Sarah D? Nah. I want more Sarah S! Stinson is the frumpy librarian of my dreams. Seeing her on-screen makes me feel like I’m a bad boy in a Dublin public library basement being told off for chatting too loudly. Everything the Bay Area needs in a news leader.

  26. It is not going to matter who replaces Pam....at what matters to KRON is getting somebody in there as cheap as possible who is halfway competent. That Noelle, if she will take a small raise, will be an option but so is Rhonda from Bakersfield, or Laura, who is fresh off her first job in Idaho. One anchor does not make a station. And this station, along with all the others, is irrelevant. Nobody relies on them for information and fewer people are watching.

  27. How about laminica peters from ch2

    1. Lamonica is great as a reporter; not so sure as an anchor when she filled in months ago. As a guy, I like how her eye make up (shadow?) matches her outfits each night. I mean that. At first I thought it was over done but not any longer. Kind of cute. Seems to me she is pleasant and attractive.

  29. So tonight KTVU aired a story about two kids running a lemonade stand in their Utah neighborhood before a story about a 15 year old San Jose boy killed by a driver while walking home from school.

    ReplyDelete
  30. KRON will not replace Pam….Nexstar is set to rebrand the station as a CW O&O. This will drastically reduce the number of News hours so no need for multiple anchors. They will need to cut costs …Pam salary is just the beginning.

  35. Noelle Bellow would absolutely have the world in her hand if she lost 80lbs, and I think Vicki is more interested in keeping the wine and restaurant beat than full-time anchoring.
