    1. That’s a given. It’s only a matter of time before the Mercury News, the Comical, and SFBait publish the story with no mention Rich.

  4. I love Frank and I’ve always defended him, but he needs serious help!! I don’t know if he recovers from this, but just praying the guy I grew up watching on TV will be okay!! These news anchors are like part of your family, and he has always come across as a good guy. Hope this is his “Rock Bottom”

  5. He is what he is.
    What can you do...

  6. Sad story. The guy clearly needs help. Maybe he sees his “rock bottom” here and gets help for himself and his family.

  7. I’m looking forward to more developments of this story but this is shocking. I don’t expect any tv station to hire him anytime soon

  9. He needs a life coach.

  10. I say give him another chance behind the anchor desk! Everyone is so quick to judge these days!

  11. Cry for help. Somebody help. Such a cold, callous unfeeling world. Somebody help this man. It's as simple as that. I hate it here sometimes.

  12. Very sad-hope family/friends can intervene.

  13. I worked with Frank in the early 1990s when he anchored the morning show at KTVU. He was really nice. There was no indication at all that he had any problems. He seemed totally normal. He went out of his way to help the interns with their careers. He was super friendly to everyone. A totally likeable person.

  14. Glad Berkeley still has police who respond to calls

Hope Frank and family find healing, didn't realize he had family in the area

  16. I will never understand when people have privilege in life and still can't get it together. His family needs to show him tough love and hopefully he can go to rehab and get his life together.

    1. Seems like he doesn't get along with the family.

    2. What kind of privilege? Wealthy parents? Rich people have problems, too.

    3. A privileged life and background does not make someone immune from depression and addiction.

    4. He had a privileged life reading a teleprompter and making a ton of money and given multiple opportunities to get his life together. He took it for granted, did not seek help and here he is in trouble yet again.

  17. Time for involuntary confinement. He is a danger not only to himself but to others as well..

  18. Put a fork in him, he’s DONE-ZO!

  19. I think Frank is trying imamate art, didn't Ron Burgundy spiral down before he got back on his feet?
I think I saw Jack Black ride off on his motorcycle in Berkeley also.....

  20. The man is obviously in need of help. He’s got a major substance abuse problem, a big ego and is almost certainly a very unhappy man . Why else would any normal human being piss away their career in the revolting fashion that he did. A sad, tawdry tale. In a couple of years, the attention-deficit general public will not even remember the guys name or where he worked. They’ll be too busy staring at tiny screen, many wrapped up in some idiotic nonsense while people such as Frank Somerville fall by the wayside.

  21. Look at everyone worried about Frank. Worry about your own lives.

  22. I guess this means Sacramento won’t be returning his calls anymore
