A Story That Needs To Be Repeated: The Anna Chavez Mystery
THIS IS Anna Chavez at her high point on KPIX. She also had a prominet stint at KGO.
Few people know the real reason why Chavez left broadcasting.

Chavez's story is a serious case of what can happen to public people, particularly women TV News anchors.

DeleteI filed a restraining order for Evelyn Bennett when she worked at kron and read the stalkers notes. It's no joke, some people are just out of touch with reality
ReplyDeleteI wondered what happened to her? She spoke at an event for a local library I worked at. She was smart, funny and personable. It is very sad she had to leave the business due to some unhinged people. I hope she is happy and safe!
ReplyDeleteOne can only imagine what it must be like these days in the age of social media. Many anchors spend more time on their social media than they do on tv.
ReplyDeleteShowing off their bodies, revealing outfits, flirty poses, plus stalkers can engage with them directly and chat them up on social media.
Thanks for this update and link to the original story of her departure. I read it and it was certainly interesting. As I mentioned in another post, just recently, with the anniversary of the 1989 earthquake, and the subsequent mentioning of it on local news, I went out there on Youtube, and found old videos of KGO's coverage on that day as it happened. It was anchored by Cheryl Jennings, but Anna Chavez was right there in the newsroom, and between the two of them, they were both solid rocks, in keeping a chaotic situation, together. You can literally see, Anna Chavez running around the newsroom, coming up with the latest to the second, information, and then, running over to Cheryl Jennings, out of breath, and then talking into Cheryl's microphone while Cheryl held it up to her face. This only added to the desperation reporting of the moment, but was right on, as people could see that what was being said, was the simple facts as they came in.
