Heather Holmes Mighty Angry She's Still #2 at KTVU; Speaking of #2, PIX's Vern Glenn; More Glitches on 95.7 "The Game" Warriors' Broadcast; Damon Bruce is a Riot; Fox2 Paranoia Intensifies; "The Firm" Gets Weider; Eikel-Nohr Forefront; Terry McSweeney Resists NY--Stays in San Jose; Hurd Gets CNN Love; Lund on Notice at KNBR; KCBS Thomas-Quan Train Wreck; Wednesday Wash

YEAH, so THIS ISN'T NEW: Heather Holmes is ROYALLY PERTURBED that she hasn't been elevated to TOP STATUS at KTVU and that Julie Haener, at least for now, is still the CO-ANCHOR at Fox2.

POOR BABY.

I'VE NEVER been a fan of HH. You know by now. She is more like a San Leandro Macys clerk in my book. She has NO presence on KTVU --that, in and of itself should say something--although a presence on KTVU these days means ZILCH, nada, like week-old 7-11 bread has more substance than the KTVU experience these days. But Heather H is still MAD. She's now so angry she's sent more resumes out and is OPENLY registering her DISMAY, not just to friends, but to her buds at the studios too.

Another CONFLICT at he FOX O and O in the Bay Area? Just what THE FIRM needs. And with Eikel (Amber) and her ass kissers UNDER SIEGE, this is all the more appropriate.

*MORE AUDIO GLITCHES for th Bay Area's WORST high-school radio station, 95.7 FM "The Game"--this time, AGAIN! --the Warriors game. Every other second, blips and AUDIO HELL! Interuptions. Tech broadcast hell. And it didn't stop. I'm sure the PD, the brand manager who does BS "tweets" on Twitter HEARD IT ALL this morning...and he HAS.

*KCBS once again is so DESPERATE of capable bodies, they once again used Eric Thomas on Tuesday's morning news. Worse, he worked with eternal LIGHTWEIGHT, Holly Quan. It was about as AWFUL as you might imagine. Quan has all the stature of an Arby's steak and Thomas is ILL-SUITED to work morning-drive radio. He's simply NOT ready for Prime time. Yet the IDIOTIC DIVA that runs KCBS still doesn't have a clue.

*MORE KCBS embarrassment: Traffic anchor Kim Wonderley's INSISTENCE to mention "Holly" (Quan) at every traffic toss --which is OK but is STRANGE and LUDICROUS sounding when she (Kim) has to mention "Holly" even after twenty or so seconds after EACH report! It's as if Wonderley is trying so hard to get Quan some sence of belonging there on air; as if Quan was trying out and Wonderley wanted her so bad! "Holly!"

*Yeah, Stan Bunger, is laughing.

*And everyone at The Game is laughing at Damon Bruce.

*KTVU staff UPDATE: as word gets out that EVERYONE in the building LEAVES IN DROVES once their shift is over precisely when they can ...comes word the FOX Internal team that is DUE any day now is HELL BENT on TALKING TO EVERYONE, including COUNTESS EIKEL and her partner in crime, Chris --I have NO HR--Nohr. Nohr loves to make workers at KTVU squirm and is so captivated by her power, she's instlled a security camera in her living room.

*Officially OFF the radar here: SFGate and Merc News; all BANG (Bay Area News Group) stuff: other local news outlets I'll glance at, sure.

*Terry McSweeney could GO to MSNBC any day now if he wants to but I guess Terry has found the way to San Jose. Its HE that should be in the M-F anchor chair but Mathai (Raj) continues to get love from the ND (Steph Androuny)--he (Raj) takes her to a lot of Giants games.

*John, "Like you said" Lund is NOW on the HOT SEAT at KNBR, with new boss, Kevin Graham: Lund's penchant to act STUPID and make a mess has seen the desk of his boss. OUCH!

*Vern Glenn at PIX: when he stops pretending to act like Gary Radnich, I'll take a glance. Until then, gees Vern, how sad. And worse yet, you're STILL #2.

*Cheryl Hurd (pictured with McSweeney) has been OFFERED a gig at CNN but she too is quite content at NBC here but dammit, they better PAY HER now before it gets too high.

*The talk at KNBR between the interns and part-time Uber drivers is the BORING late-night yutz auditioning for the 6-10 PM gig. Cary Crowley is about as exciting as a Turlock whore house.

  1. Cheryl Hurd a solid professional. Heather Holmes brings nothing to the news desk just kind of bland. There is only one Gary Radnich and Vernon just comes across as trying to hard to be a Radnich wannabe. Please Vern, develop your own Schlick or personality., it’s time. Thanks Rich!

  2. Didn’t Lund sign a big deal to leave 95.7 and join KNBR and then reupped recently? Just curious as to what the buyout would be? Who would replace him and be with papa? Or would both leave and start a podcast because papa always complains about how his show gets in the way of watching practice?

    1. @Richard Carnium- I'm not sure about Lund re-upping at KNBR, but Lund did sign a big deal with KNBR when he left 95.7 back in 2016.

As far as who to replace him if he left KNBR, I'm honestly not sure. Greg Papa wants certain people to work with him which is not a bad thing, but you have to be on your game to work with him. It would be cool to have Bonta come back to KNBR and work with him again, but I'm not totally sure how their relationship is now after Greg Papa left Bonta at 95.7. They technically work together now on NBC Sports Bay Area so hopefully they were able to mend fences within the past year. Bonta has a good thing at 95.7 with Butcher Boy, so it would be tough seeing that pairing break up.

Mark Willard could've been a replacement, but he's with 95.7 now.... Maybe they bring in someone from another market?

    2. I dont see papa and hill ever working together again, he made pretty clear he regretted ever choosing hill the first time..

      Delete
    3. @unknown stuntman- Yeah, that sadly could be the case, but I'm sure Greg Papa could change his mind seeing where Bonta is now compared to where he was back in 2016 when they were paired up on 95.7.

  3. My guess is Crowley gets the KNBR gig because he is baseball-centric and willing to ignore whatever is happening and shill for the Giants 52 weeks a year. Lund could be in trouble because he really is as empty and shallow as he comes across on the radio - how can he change?

  4. Heather Holmes is ok. She is eye candy for sure, but she's not going to be the top anchor at KTVU as long as Julie Haener is there.

Plus, Julie Haener's son plays at Fresno State. He could be in the NFL one day, so Julie Haener has that going for her as well.

    1. From Fresno State to the NFL?? Oh, sure.

      Delete
    2. @2:58- Maybe.... He's tearing it up at Fresno State so far this year. They beat UCLA on the road. Kind of surprised Cal, Stanford, and/or San Jose State passed up on a guy like this, especially considering who his Mom is.

But yes, he could be in the NFL one day but we'll see.

      Delete
    3. Yeah, sure, right. Hope he’s taking his studies seriously and learning a real profession other than throwing a ball because his chances of making the nfl are about as slim as my chances of winning tonight’s Powerball.

    4. Fresno State belongs in division 2. the bulk of their conference plays at a D3 level. Utah State, San Diego state, and Nevada have the same or better record than Fresno state. Following your logic those qb’s should also go to the nfl. This is what happens when parents coddle their children and tell little Johnny that they’re going to be some nfl superstar.

      Delete
    5. You don't need to go to a high-profile school anymore to succeed in the NFL. One of the best QB's to come along in the past couple of years...Buffalo's Josh Allen...grew up in Firebaugh(!) down in the Valley. Fresno State (which is FCS/Div. I, by the way) didn't even scout him--and that was his dream school. So he "settled" for Wyoming. One of the projected top QBs in next year's draft plays at Liberty University (I'll save you from Googling: It's an FBS/Div.II school in Lynchburg, VA).

      Delete
    6. @4:46- I'm sure he is focusing on his studies just in case he doesn't make it to the NFL. Most of these college athletes have plans outside of football.

      Delete
    7. @5:01- Fresno State belongs in Division 1. They beat UCLA on the road, and Jeff Tedford when he was the head coach there, helped build the football program.... As far as the rest of the schools you mentioned, they're good. Maybe some of them could be Division 1-AA at worst, but not below Division 1. San Diego State is usually solid in football, Nevada is ok in football, and Utah State is no slouch in football normally.

Obviously not all the QB's from that conference will make the NFL, but I was referring to Haener. Yeah, we don't know what his football future holds and he may not make the NFL, but he's having a good start to Fresno State so far.

      Delete
    8. @Unknown at 2:58 PM and all of you Fresno State haters....let's see...Derek Carr, David Carr, both QBs. Players in the NFL right now, Davonte Adams at Green Bay. In the past, let's see...Lorenzo Neal, Henry Ellard, Stephan Baker....I could go on and on. Fresno State isn't in the SEC but it can compete with any school. Regularly beats UCLA, and has wins against Kansas State, Oregon State, Georgia Tech, Colorado State, Arizona State.... yeah, they don't play Big 10 or SEC teams but they are a solid, strong D1.

      Delete
    9. It's early but Haener is rated one of the top 10 QB prospects in this year's draft class which means he would likely be picked somewhere in the back half of the draft.

      Delete
    10. All those words and comments but the reality is still the same, Jock Haener isn’t going to be an nfl star. But you do you boo, keep on living in your fantasy land and keep on with the asskissing.

      Delete
    11. Those knocking Fresno State don't follow football. There have been times in the past 20 years or so that they have had the best football team in the state. Right now they are top 3.

      Delete
    12. Only place he’s going is to the unemployment line when he finishes college, has no job, and learns that he won’t be making a living throwing a ball around. I looked at his numbers and he’s a good quarterback but not elite nfl material. A closer look at his stats shows that he has eeeked out wins against some lousy mountain west teams this year. Not a knock on him, but a verifiable fact. the fact he won’t become an nfl starter also isn’t a knock on him. He’s obviously talented but the nfl is for the best of the best and he’s not in that category. All qb’s playing D1 football are good, but some are better than others and some play elite competition based on the conference they play in (sec, big-10, etc). Being drafted would be an accomplishment for haener but he won’t be taking any snaps as an nfl starter. Others have opinions that differ from mine but we’ll see who’s right in the long run.

    13. Y’all a bunch of clowns arguing over some 22 year old kid from the comfort of your couch. Pretty sure none of you played D1 football or have scoured talent for the nfl. So take three seats and STFU

    14. Wow, Julie is feisty tonight talking about clowns and stfu. Why you mad, Julie? You frustrated cuz you actually had to go to work tonight and couldn’t take the night off for the 257th time this year?

  5. Gasia is probably the top selection replacing Julie and Heather is no 2. Any idea who will replace Ken on KPIX? I prefer the weekend anchors on daytime and Maria Medina on weekends.

  6. I think ET sounds good in the mornings on KCBS. Has enough "authority" in his voice, yet comes off as pleasant. I wake up to KCBS at 5:18 every morning and he's been fine {shrug}... when Audacity ACTUALLY works that is. I have an Amazon Echo show that serves as my alarm clock and has a "Routine" to play KCBS via Audacity at 5:18. Twice this week, KCBS did not play and when I went to play it manually, no go. Worked this morning tho.

  7. Vern Glenn is cool. I'm friends with him on Facebook and he seems like a good dude sharing things about his family and sharing stuff about what he's going to talk about on KPIX.

I saw him one time at Civic Center back when he was working at KRON, and he gave me a nod. We didn't say anything to each other as we were both just passing by, but it was kind of cool that he noticed me as he was probably on his way to KRON at the time back when KRON was on Van Ness.

  8. I know this is random but, I'm just thinking, man, it's amazing how professional the people at KTVU can be on the news when all of this drama is going on in the background. KTVU is figuratively in flames right now, but you would never guess by watching the news on KTVU. I know they have to be professional on TV, but it just amazes me. How can they still do the news under these conditions?

    3. I agree, OTIS III is beginning to sound like an obsessed viewer. I know that sounds odd but it can become very scary and unsettling to on air talent when people begin to obsess like Otis. I would encourage him to get off his couch and make real friends. Remember, the people you see on tv aren’t your friends. They are simply doing a job which requires them to be on television.

    4. @10:59- Not sure if I'm an obsessed viewer, but I'll try to tone it down. Sorry if it appears that way.

A lot of times, these media people do want our support. Some of the media people are friendly, and would welcome any type of fanbase within reason. But yeah, most of them are doing a job, you're right.

I do have some real friends, but a lot of my friends are either married, have kids, and are busy with their own lives. I'm busy in my life too, but it's cool to talk about Bay Area media on forums and blogs like this.

  15. if Kuretenbach gets the job, they could call it ''Kurtenbach's Korner'' or ''Dieter's Drivetime''! Crowley makes big statements , but theres a lot of flim flam in between those ''big statements''. kurtenback is very detailed in his descriptions and packs a lot of information- youjust gotta put up with ''yeah uh-huh, yeah ,yuh right'' for 3 hours.

    1. Crowley for me vacillates between boring and annoying. He's a very good beat reporter, but as a host, not a fan. Heather Holmes should take her stilettos and Botox lips and go to Palm Springs. Overrated tart. The real star at KTVU is Cristina Rendon. Nothing phony about her.

I really wonder when you're going to have more good than bad things to say about the morons behind the microphones and running the media ships. Not your fault. It's the people, not you. You're just reporting how they're screwing up. Which is A LOT.

  20. Can't stand Paul Rogers on KGO when he does the Harris's Restaur-AUNT commercial and he continually says "res'tr'nt and fails to pronounce the last syllable properly. Similar to Jon Rothmann always saying "PROGR'M" instead of pro-gram.

She's simply too good looking not to continue her rise in the industry, IMO. I agree that she may not be as interesting a person as JH, but does she have to be?
