TWO OF THE MOST INDELIABLE FIGURES at KCBS: Bob Melrose (left) and Ms. Barbara Taylor. (Photo courtesy Radio.com)
I'm now learning that Ms. Taylor, has passed away. --she died Monday, of complications from a car crash a year ago. Here's the obit from KCBS.
I REMEMBER Ms. Taylor from her years of reporting from City Hall in San Francisco. She had a very distinct voice and a reputation as a tough, relentless, reporter who was as old-school as ever. The same attributes that befit Melrose, who I had a chance to know very well during his long tenure at KCBS. (He's now enjoying retirement in the Eastbay)
I didn't know Ms. Taylor, but like mostly everyone else, respected her work at City Hall covering SF politics and having the tenacity and vigor over decades of covering the spectacle known as SF City Hall; Taylor had her very own office at the Press center inside the building.
415 Media extends its condolences to Ms. Taylor and her family and friends.
Barbara Taylor was superb reporter and she was always accurate in stories. RIP
ReplyDeletetoo good for the current era
ReplyDeleteJust Heartsick. Absolutely one of the greatest reporters in SF history. Taylor never tolerated dumbed down reporting. What we will most miss is Taylor calling Sovern and telling him to step it up. Because from what Rich has been saying, Taylor's superb example hasn't always been followed by Sovern.
ReplyDeleteWasn't familiar with her, but sounds like I missed out on a gem.
ReplyDeletewas that a recent photo of her, she looks so young
