Susan Leigh Taylor showed up this Monday morning on KCBS--she's been away since early April--and has been subbing for Rebecca Corral on the 10 AM--2 PM time slot.
Before the pandemic, Taylor was about to retire. She held off when the bosses asked her to delay--that way she could solo in mid-morning and Stan Bunger would isolate in studio from 5: 30 until 10.
Taylor rearranged her retirement --when she does hang it up it'll be forever. This pandemic has thrown a monkey wrench into everyone's details.
Considering the number of commercials KCBS runs, she won't get much of a chance to wax poetically about her beloved Pacifica. Frankly, that's better than the commercials.
ReplyDeleteOMG! What happened to KCBS? In the late 60's and 70's, 80's 90's and early new millennium it was top notch; for a few years not so much, depended on it for traffic reports and it was so accurate! Now not so much, if you're going to HWY 5 LA or HWY 99 Central Cal and something's up good luck on any info; slipped downhill since I listened to it 50 years ago...shame...
