The credits are from the shows first season (1972-1973), the episode itself "A Trout in the Milk" was actually a pretty good episode. The episodes from 1974-1975 had shorter opening credits, starting with "The Streets of San Francisco" title card.
I remember at one point in this episode, Karl Malden says to Michael Douglas "I don't know what a Tech Company is, but I think if started one, we could price out all the riff raff."
Episode filmed just before Douglas filmed his Oscar-winning movie, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, making Nicholson the Jaaaack we all know. Amazing that Douglas was still able to complete his ABC contract. Helps that he and Malden always respected each other on and off set.

ReplyDeleteYES!!!
ReplyDeleteBased on the guest stars, it appears to be a case involving blacks and hippies. The bridge traffic also seemed to be moving along nicely.
ReplyDeleteLove the show and love SF in the 70's. It's gone downhill since the late 80's.
ReplyDeleteIn 1974 The Streets of San Francisco were full of hippies and junkies.
ReplyDeleteIn 2020 the streets are filled with junkies and shit.
