  1. Only 4 months after this, Channel 20 (KEMO, a Spanish language station), would be bought out by James Gabbert, who would turn it to KTZO (and later KOFY) with a great lineup of vintage TV reruns (in English).

  2. That was such a great time! I remember watching some late night show on TV36 that had some host and was sponsored by MMM Carpets. Then there was Creature Feature on Sat nights.

  3. I used to live on the top of the ridge above Skyline Blvd in San Bruno. Not only could I pull in all the SF and SJ stations with an over-the-air antenna, but I could also pick up several Sacramento stations and channel 50 out of Santa Rosa. I actually get fewer local channels now with YouTube TV than I did back then.

  6. I remember when UHF was new. We had to get a new antenna. We didn't watch much UHF though.

  7. I miss the days when the Bay could also receive TV from Sacramento and the Monterey Peninsula without having to use a satellite dish, cell phone, or laptop.

  8. I remember those days. A lot more simpler times. I also remember Creature Features on both KTVU and KTXL. And Gene Scott on KVOF!

  9. Good luck getting Sacramento station OTA in SF unless it is Comcast, TV Station or able to get an expensive antenna to get the signal. Back in the 80s, SF cable did have Sacramento Stations and Sacramento got SF stations, not for long. Only Vallejo, Fairfield, Vacaville can get both SF/SAC with cable or OTA.

  11. It's kinda "cute" reading all these "I miss those days" of pulling on over-the-air TV programming. Kinda like people who lament the days of the horse-and-buggy days. I'll be many bemoan the loss of when Blacks were still subjected to Jim Crow laws...or Jews had to wear a Star of David.

Me, I'll take today's hi tech offerings. It's called "PROGRESS""....and I am eager to see what the future holds. We now have 4K TV...80-inch 4K TV's...on demand channels...fantastic soundbar/speaker sound systems, and it seems like 1,000 available channels or or streaming options. THIS is the Golden Age of TV.

But the future will eclipse what we currently have--and I'm excited about this!

  12. Looks like you got this station lineup from an old TV Guide. I subscribed for years.
