CBS Hits Layoff Playbook En Fuego; Bay Area/KPIX Feels Wrath of Pandemic; Jackie Ward Resurfaces on NBC Bay Area; Kristen Sze at KGO Needs to Calm Down; Willie Brown 'Tent' Jokes Weird; KNBR's John Lund Warned to 86 Dick Jokes; Friday Fisticuffs

IF YOU already haven't taken notice than you're late to the detail: CBS is already in full layoff mode; they have so far chopped off over 100 staff personnel and SF is on its hit list. The word from people in the know: "No one is safe." Indeed, CBS has kept to the word on the street. One of its major name talent: WashDC White Hoiuse reporter,  Mark Knoller, just got the axe.

*I REPORTED Thursday that CBS essentially gave its Bay Area streaming site, CBSN, the heave-ho: virtually its entire staff, at least 10-15 people were sent packing and there's more to come soon.

I wouldn't be entirely shocked that the next to go will include some of KPIX's reporters and some producers, including an anchor or two. The Bay Area O and O is a residue of fat and no doubt, CBS is looking to trim, thanks to the virus.

*Jackie Ward, who mysteriously was cut from PIX, has resurfaced on NBC Bay Area, which is good news for both Ward and KNTV because NBC is cutting staff, including its San Jose O and O. Ward might have escaped the initial surge.

*Willie Brown must have made KCBS anchor, Stan Bunger a little nervous this Friday morning. Brown was lobbing jokes about the homeless (inadvertently) with a series of :tent" references to Bunger's questions about SF and new restaurant updates regarding the virus. Bunger was not amused.

*Christine Craft has never heard of the term, "tongue-in-cheek."

*BIG May Sweeps winners: KGO, KTVU.

Kristen Sze

*Kristen Sze is a solid anchor at KGO, I've always loved her work, but her arrogance at 900 Front is beginning to take its toll at some staffers who say she's a royal pain in the ass to deal with. One thing to use your juice occasionally it's another to show the people you're the Boss. I don't know what's going on in Sze's head lately but if she continues to be a mean lady, she'll get the wrath of the team at Circle 7.

John Lund: dick jokes warning by KNBR

*SPEAKING of NEEDING TO CALM DOWN: KNBR bozo and 50-something teenager, moron John Lund, was told by station staff to KNOCK OFF dick jokes (again)..Lund is totally helpless. He prepares for work, I'll give him that, but he can't help himself. Once a JERK, always a JERK!
