With Social Distancing M.O., No Fooling Around Off the Anchor Desk (Seriously)

Social Distancing: Why You Should Take It Seriously During the ...

MAYBE TO LIGHTEN EVERYONE UP...

In the "I'm not kidding" category, the social distancing procedure has hit the TV News newsroom hard here (and probably elsewhere)

A local, veteran staffer: "There's no affairs now. Everyone is afraid. I guess there's no misbehaving." Really? Yep.

So now you know kissy-kissy is out the door.  Anchors have to stay focused on reading the teleprompter. Bad behavior no longer tolerated. Boys and Girls, you're stuck now.

Someone at KTVU is really pissed.

  1. I saw Janelle Wang doing the news from home. She had a bowl of fruit on top of the stove. Who does that?

    1. Good observation Mayate. Marcus Washington has some Mad Dog 20/20 on his shelf the other day when he did the news from home. I’m jealous.

  3. Real vs. Fake News - The Bay Area News Meedia

    Stories they keep doing:
    -----------------------
    1) It's lonely out there.
    2) How people aren't spending like they used to.
    3) How to wash your hands.
    4) How healthcare professionals are coping.
    5) Today's numbers, without a graph of how much this is an increase over time.
    6) How local restaurants are impacted.
    7) Gas prices are falling.

Stories they won't dare do (real reporting):
    --------------------------
    1) Why people are still hoarding after three weeks, and where that merchandise may show up later.
    2) Employers who are ignoring the local and state directives, and forcing non-necessary employees to work.
    3) How big businesses are lobbying Congress to get outsized breaks for their companies.
    4) Why rock stars and celebrities can get tested at the drop of a hat, but you or I can't.
    5) Why so many things that have nothing to do with Coronavirus are being hoarded.
    6) Why our tax money hasn't bought better-equipped emergency facilities, both at the state and federal level, while it has in most of horribly Socialist Europe.
    7) Why Joe Biden is suddenly hiding, and why he wants the Democratic primaries to end and him declared a winner.

    ...Interesting, no?

    1. Good eye! I noticed the lovely Cristina Rendón appears to live in a one bedroom apartment. Mark Ibanez chose to broadcast from his home in Napa and show off his rock and roll memorabilia posters and a green plant. Frank Sommerville has a massive home in the oakland hills and showed off his football helmet collection in the background. Rob Roth has a very striking wooden cabinet as his background. I’m no furniture expert but I’m guessing that piece must be worth at least $5,000 if not more. It’s definitely not IKEA! Mark Tamayo’s place looks nice.

    2. Michael Finney at KGO has his Colorado Degree and other educational backgrounds all over his wall. San Diego state too,I think. Should have wrote it down. I got the feeling Michaels done much moving around in his early life.
Rosemary Orozco AND Claudine Wong interestingly enough, have paintings of SF on their walls. Not Oakland, win, wink.
