Continuing To Live-Blog and Answer Your 415 Media Questons; Coronavirus Crisis and All Tuesday
YOUR MEDIA QUESTIONS; your chance to vent and commiserate if you want; it's all a little unorthodox now which is why I'm live-blogging and talking to you all, whether you're at home or at the office.
Rich- thanks for the consistency that we all need in a time like this. Did Julie Haener contract the virus, where she at?! I’m looking for a good takeout place can you recommend any in my hood?
She looks ok & well judging by her Instagram posts. Julie H. seems to take ~week off each month. If she was able to negotiate or accrue vacation/sick leave, it's a good move for her with two boys away at college (or did they come home if the colleges were shut down) and her desire to visit/travel (when travel was safer) with friends & family.
Instagram? You think a street brotha like me has time for that? Im out here trying to make a dolla you know that im saying L-2? What are you some kind of star wars droid or somethin?
As far as I know, NO, JH is OK just taking some vacation time and that's reasonable...as far as takeout in your hood, for pizza, I like North Beach pizza ...if you want Chinese, virtually all the places in Chinatown deliver (those that are still open) and they're all pretty good. Check Yelp and do some google searches, thanks for your cool words, John.
Rich, when do we scale back the staying at home and resume a semblance of normal life? I fear that we are ruining the economy unnecessarily. There are always ways that people get sick(flu, etc) and some do die. But never before have we retreated to this extent with no path forward. I don't often agree with your President but he may be partially right on this issue.
Perhaps this is different is because this virus is different. At least that is what I gather when I read and listen to the different experts.
I never really worry about the flu, although past 70 have never had the flu, no cold for about 10 years, wasn't worried about SARS and some of the other flu. I'm not panicking over this one, but am taking it seriously, so mostly staying home.
There are treatments for numerous flus and SARS. There remains no treatment for COVID-19. Addressing infections must supersede image obsession. And helping emergency rooms unequipped to handle COVID-19 must supersede economic issues. Clearly, the Virus-in-Chief disagrees with that. Therefore, Rich and a majority of his fellow readers are dealing with two viruses - the physical virus and the rhetorical virus. Even VP Pence doesn't want anybody infected, as he knows babies can't be saved from abortion if the baby savers end up with coronavirus. If the VP and his Senate minions weren't so scared of the Vocal Virus, they would stand up and say without healthy workers, there is no healthy economy, let alone anti-Roe-v-Wade movement. But, of course, instead we have a mentally ill commander who only cares about himself and continually spits on the graves of past baby savers who have actually backed up their values with multiple healing steps. Too bad, the Extremist Evangelicals are too warped to see that logic, unlike most of our readers, many of whom disagree with my views yet know it takes people power to achieve their own political ambitions. And it can't happen if those people are hit with this virus.
Joe, I read (you should too) the scientists and doctors who say as of now, we need to stay inside and stop this virus from spreading. So if a sacrifice of two or so weeks means we stop this enemy than I'm all for it. Like others, I respect Dr. Fauci. "Your Pres?" I'm not a Trump guy it's hard to watch that guy.
Rich, The your president was a joke Like when you are a kid and screw up,mom tells dad what HIS child did It also works the other way, but in my house you wanted dad's punishment but NOT moms!
May Dr. Fauci keep speaking, even if the Apprentice-in-Chief does his reality show act in his face. Even our most inept local stations will gladly welcome Fauci's lifesaving advice, and not just NBC News, whose most famous ex-stockholder, as of a week ago, just made an indirect critical statement toward someone who put economy over physical well-being. Hint: that ex-stockholder not only gave up his founding tech company and his shares of the cable company that owns NBC News, he and his wife are now doubling down on their long time health care philanthropic work. I think our suffering hospitals will eventually receive more words and resource rescuing from one Mr. Bill Gates real soon.
Hola Rich! I appreciate you staying open and responsive during this difficult time and I hope you and yours are doing okay. Do you know if the staff of local tv stations are paying paid right now? I feel so sorry for the off screen talent at local stations.
What do you make of KTVU reporter Evan Sernoffsky and his porn star mustache? On last night’s report he even work a big trench coat like McGruff the crime dawg. Wtf

DeleteMaybe Haener suffers from monthly Holmes heaves. And maybe The Firm encourages that.

ReplyDeleteThey are being paid as of now --I see no reason why they wouldn't be but depending on how long this crisis lasts, that could change.
DeleteAre you as sick of hearing anchors and reporters saying, "We're all in this together" as I am?
ReplyDeleteYes, especially when you know they really don't mean it.
DeleteI really like greg papa but I can’t standthat fanook John Lund. Why do they keep lund?
ReplyDeleteHe has a way of ingratiating himself with the bosses but given latest ratings, he might have to update the resume.
DeleteHow does that no talent meeskite Darya have a job?
ReplyDeleteWell, I can think of two things off the top of my head.
DeleteIs Christina Tetreault done at KRON? Seems like she's been gone forever and spending alot of time in AZ per her IG
ReplyDeleteGood question. I miss Blinky as well.

ReplyDeleteI guess it's a good thing most people don't know what pinche mayate means. I guess it's everyone's First Amendment right to be ignorant.
