NICE of Gary Radnich to trash all his ex pals in an interview with the Athletic --Radnich chose the ass kisser supreme to vent his angst because he knew he'd get a receptive nudge from a guy who three years earlier begged to do his KNBR show.
Radnich didn't talk about his pleas to KGO (ABC7) to do a 5 PM sportscast because KGO decided to nix his (Raddy's) salary demands. Plus, Radnich wanted special treatment and KGO said no to all --they already have ego maniac, Larry Beil, on board and were in no mood to consider Raddy's outrageous demands.
Its behind a paywall,and I would never pay $5 to hear Radnich do his version of a sports Donald Trump and his whole narcissism trip. So,fill in the details..

He must still need the money. If money was no longer an issue with him, he'd have retired years ago on his own terms, and to do so with class. And all that aside, had he been more humble in his dealings with KGO they might have signed him to a contract. But I guess the word "class" (along with the word "humility") is not part of Gary's vocabulary.

ReplyDeleteI'm surprised Raddy even tried KGO. Don't they share the building with KRON? Seems like they would already know his style (or lack of it). Of course maybe Raddy thought they secretly lusted after him all along (and maybe they did).

4:45 pm -- That piece for whatever reason flew under the radar. It was posted on Jan. 31. Regardless, Fatnich should stay in his St. Francis Wood home and do podcasts so the lemmings can listen to them while at the health club or riding BART. No one cares. Good riddance.
ReplyDeleteYeah,I sort of choked cough to see Steve Berman wrote it. Steve banned me for telling the truth about local sports. I upset the Giants with Lincecum and the 49ers he said. I can't even remember what I posted on the 49ers. But what I said made them threaten to withdraw a signed football as a Steve give away. He told me,that's why I know.

Love Gary! Would be a perfect fit for KGO. They need someone informal and real like him to breath some personality into their newscasts. He would make all the anchors look better. I know everything I want to know about sports from Google but love him or hate him, Gary's perspective ain't something I can get looking at scores on my phone.

We all know the truth. Gary Radnich will anything to get back into radio. Radnich misses every minute on air time on KNBR.
