KCBS' BEST show --the Friday in-studio schmooze with Willie Brown, Stan Bunger and Phil Matier, is also its most frustrating.

Frustrating, as in "w'hy can't we hear more?" Does another useless weather report and same, same traffic update have to squeeze time from listening to an entertaining insight from Brown and his political acumen.

It's so damn frustrating and KCBS still continues its banality infuriating listeners and advocated alike.

Today, (Friday) Brown and Matier were discussing Trump's now-famous dust-up with Nancy Pelosi on the SOTU address, Tuesday night. You saw Trump snub the Speaker and Pelosi rip up Trump's paper speech the other night. Brown said it was a lot of good theatre but not much of a big deal. I agree. I would have loved to hear more.

Bunger also got Brown to say something news worthy too: that Mike Bloomberg was the only guy that could beat POTUS Trump.

This segment could be much better than its usual three-minute squeeze if everyone had time to talk, most notably Brown and Matier. Even Bunger wouldn't have to rush and ask the decent questions he occasionally asks. But no, weather has to be called on and a traffic report is topic-A.

Dammit.

  1. Must be why Bloomberg polled at less than 1% in Iowa.

  2. I used to respect Matier and consider him the real thing. Until he got in bed with Slick Willie. Imagine Churchill interviewing Hitler or Roosevelt palling around with Stalin and you get my drift. What a joke our "news media" is.

  3. Willie Brown is very astute. When Willie talks, we all should listen very carefully. However in this particular case Bernie has the best chance to beat Trump. What would motivate a middle class American to vote for another billionaire offering more "take from the poor and middle class and give to the rich" trickle policies? If they want a billionaire they already got one, in Trump.

    1. Dems need an electoral college strategy, not just a middle class American strategy. And keep the GOP from cheating.

    2. The non-democrat succubus on the democratic party, self-avowed socialist, multimillionaire free lunch buncher is Donnie's wet dream. One can easily write the winning campaign talking points on this, without breaking a sweat.Even flaming liberals like me can see the obvious. What's really humorous is the fact that the Berniebots are all enraged that Mr.Bloomberg will now be on a debate stage with their cult leader. Bernie Sanders claims to be the big "billionaire slayer", right? IF he's so good at it, then taking down Michael Bloomberg should be easy pickings, right? I think Willie Brown knows that answer.

    3. What do you mean by wet dreams, Christine?

    4. I mean nocturnal emissions derived from dreaming about things that make a man happy. For Donnie, having a socialist opponent would be a cakewalk..does that help?

  4. How were 4 men allowed inside of KCBS?

  5. Matier is irrelevant, and hangs onto Brown only because if he didn't he'd have no career. And Brown like anybody who sticks a microphone in his pudgy face. A match made in heaven.

  6. I've been a Biden supporter, but I'm seriously thinking of switching to Bloomberg. Biden's campaign and debate performances just haven't been that impressive. I lived in NYC for a few years, and although I left before Bloomberg became mayor, from following what was going on there after I left, he did a pretty good job as mayor.

  7. Trump will destroy Sanders. People in Cali think that folks in Ohio, Penn etc don't exist. He CANNOT implement any of his policies with this Congress. It reminds me of my starry eyed admiration for McGovern. How did that turn out?

    1. Well, McGovern did ultimately get rid of Nixon...
