Sheryl Raines is suing KCBS for sexual harassment --here's some of the story by Chuck Barney in the Merc.
MORE, as I'm told by 415 Media sources close to the situation.
Raines was FEARED by many who worked at the station and who were near her workplace.
She was very eager to tell anyone, men and women, to, "stay the hell out of my way," and that it was a given at the KCBS studio, "don't fuck with her, or you will pay dearly." Only it was made clear, even the most innocent moment, Rains wanted nothing to do with anyone. It may have been a power move or maybe someone who clearly thought they had the power to act like a diva.
We'll see who wins out.
Someone was that desperate?
ReplyDeleteShe was there for 30 years and I' sure felt confidant that the resident engineer who got earthy with woman there would be dealt with swiftly if SHE complained.
ReplyDeleteOnly,it turned out they didn't care and her 30 years meant squat as the hired somebody cheaper and who sounds like her.
I'm betting she thought in this "me too" era she had clout..but no,big business thought "Just another woman employee"..and escorted her out no doubt.
You forgot your meds again. Please take them before posting.
DeleteWhat meds do they give you for proofreading? I'll try it. Must improve vision too huh Dr. Anonymous?
DeleteI'm going to need a full body picture.
ReplyDeleteShe sounds like a Class A. Standard Brand, Complete Bitch.
ReplyDeleteUsually, when someone goes out of their way to be unreasonable and tedious, it is to cover up some kind of insecurity.
Fait accompli.
I wouldn’t do her with Rich’s “manhood”
ReplyDeleteRich would perhaps say "It will be the greatest trill of your life if you could use his manhood."
DeleteAttention weather people/sports talkers/traffic readers...check your egos at the door, you are relative nobodies.
ReplyDeleteThis is when "Me Too" becomes "Yeah Right."
ReplyDeleteHas she ever seen that Buck Henry movie To Die For? About a weather girl who thinks she's much more important than she is? Hey, Sheryl, I think it's on Amazon Prime. Watch it...
ReplyDeleteshouldn't you wait to see what the specifics of the complaint are before engaging in character assassination?
ReplyDeleteGood work by Sherly Raines.
ReplyDeleteRATS like KCBS and others in local radio cannot get away with this behavior and sweep it under the rug.
Where is Susan Leigh Taylor.
Her silence is deafnening.
Is't she the big (in more ways than one) women's advocate ?
So this would indicate that a man still works at KCBS. i find that hard to believe.
ReplyDeleteI've NEVER feared anyone at my newsrooms--and neither should anyone else fear anyone. What are they gonna do...fire you? You can challenge this w/HR if they do.Just because a superior disagrees with you doesn't mean it's a fireable offense.
ReplyDeleteNow, Sheryl is a woman--so I would never get physical with her (or any woman). But I sure as hell wouldn't back down--and I imagine I could easily go toe-to-toe with her with F-bombs, B*tch-bombs, and other "choice" utterances.
Of course...I'm a guy...and have, on occasion, when yelled at by superiors (i.e. producers, ND's, EP's, etc.), I yell back, and then either let it "roll of my back"...or in a couple of cases, told one person to get out of my face (he was literally nose-to-nose with me) or "I will knock you out RIGHT NOW with one punch." (I'm a "fit" 6'3", 220lbs). In my 19-years in the business, I've found the biggest yellers are typically the smallest-sized, wimpiest people (or extremely overweight).
> What are they gonna do...fire you?
DeleteNo, they make shit up. When it's a choice between the management believing you or their "star," they go with the star. It's that kind of mentality.
No,its called "I need new glasses" ALL of you just have to live with the typos and missing letters for the duration. More reason to love me. I'm so real.
ReplyDeleteMaybe next month. Can't promise.
damn check spell thinks I' is a word. You just can't count on anybody anymore.
Well the New Owners, Entercom, had a cheaper AFTRA Contract for Traffic People, and Cheryl had 30+ years at Full AFTRA Scale. So, It was mostly a Money Move. She was NOT fired from the REAL CBS, she was fired by Entercom who bought CBS Radio. Many of the Former CBS Radio Folks are starting to retire. New Employee's mean Lower Contract Scale. Entercom is in trouble these days...That's why so many more commercials an their stock is less than 4 Dollars. It was as high as 17.
ReplyDeleteShe had been with KCBS for 30 years. When was that photo taken?
