DON'T THINK 415 MEDIA has influence?The schlum that was supposed to fill in tonight on KTVU so regular weather guru, Bill Martin, could take his days off has now been relegated to morning time, like this (Monday) morning.
Steve Paulson, a real weather anchor, will be on the set tonight filling in for Martin and thus, saving KTVU a lot of embarrassment.
I don't know if that spells trouble for Martin long term or if it shows he still has clout at 2 Jack London Square.

Sara Z. did a pretty good job this morning... more than adequate. I think someone one mentioned a few days ago that she did weather prior. She seemed comfortable- much more comfortable and smoother than when Allie R first stating subbing for Sal last year or so.

I recall back when I frequently traveled to Santa Rosa, the Cotati
Walgreens had a family of free range Red Hens and bossy Roosters strutting about in a field near the parking lot. That is probably ended by now.

DeleteSara Zendenham was on air for weather Sunday at 7am then Sunday at 10pm and 11pm and then this morning at 4am until 10am. It appears to me that this lady is being abused by management who know she's inexperienced and being asked to do things she's not qualified for and she is likely afraid to say no. If only she was in a union. Oh wait, she is! Nice job SF SAG/AFTRA. Let the young ones make minimum and have Zero protection against clearly unscrupulous managers. Just wrong. Shame on you both KTVU and the so called union.
ReplyDeleteKTVU produces over twelve hours of news on weekdays... They should have five full time meteorologists. ABC 7 does, and they produce less news very week. I don't understand how three of four meteorologists at a station plan vacations at the same time, but that's another story. KTVU is steadily declining and its sad to watch. Their weekend newscasts are such a joke. Its terrible given what KTVU once had. Also, Rob Malcom - he's MIA from KTVU... HE was a solid field reporter.
ReplyDeleteBut seriously how low does your self esteem have to be to be abused like this by your bosses and just take it? Or maybe you're just the world's most accomplished ass kisser? Damn. Either way. Sets a terrible precedent for the rest of your newsroom. Also who the hell would ever want to work there after seeing this? As a viewer it makes me want to watch a station that doesn't put the same people on all day and night.
