Riveting stuff.
I was advised by my friend, Bumpy Bumkin that Bonnie was hired by KNBR not so much for her looks but so she could add much-needed audio fritatti to the show's benefit. It is a massive undertaking but well worth the effort.
Laflin is quite the sports voice and it shows. Her breakdowns on 49ers' OTAs and the Warriors' progression in the NBA Finals are must-listen radio. The NFL? She's a regular Mel Kuiper only more bubbly and educated.
But the BIG reason I like BJL is her networking with Powlie Mac --they form the glue that makes the Knibber AM extravaganza such a vital presence in the community.
That said, even if its radio and we can't see her, I'm sure BJL has MAJOR -LEAGUE STUFF. Trust me on this one.

DeleteSmurf and Smack was bad radio before Bonnie, during Bonnie and After Bonnie is gone. Why KNBR keeps these two i dont know. I wonder with the end of Lock step Larry if the line up on KNBR gets a refresh?

ReplyDeleteDon't get me started on Amy G! Although it's weird, for some reason she isn't bothering me as much this year. Maybe because the Giants aren't playing well and I welcome any distraction? At this point I'll take Amy G all day every day over those idiots on the morning show.

ReplyDeleteI often wonder what Lee Hammer must be thinking keeping those two fools on the morning show. That being said, Bonnie-Jill is pretty damn good, when they let her speak. She comes in prepared to talk about whatever and has as Gary would say, "very good knowledge." She'll do her time and then move on to something bigger and better.
ReplyDeleteMurph needs to teach her how to ask questions. She prefaces every question with some long, drawn statement that answers her own question. "Joe Montana won a national championship, four Super Bowls and is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Do you think he's a good quarterback?"
