*I REPORTED HERE that KTVU anchors Frank Somerville (news) and Mark Ibanez (sports) were not speaking to each other and it's getting worse.
Ibanez has privately ripped hard into Somerville and so too Somerville ripping Ibanez privately to staff at KTVU. While Somerville is in the beginning of a potentially nasty divorce (and other issues) Ibanez is seething that Frank tried to involve him an a past, internal texting scandal that was the talk of KTVU. The specifics: Somerville's relationship with a intern that caused extreme hardship and made for awkward relationships with friends and working associates; the relationship was deemed platonic by Somerville to sources but don't tell that to Ibanez who was positioned to know. In any event, the two DO NOT TALK and an already tense situation has turned downright hostile. |

*IN THEIR BEST FRAME, "Sarah and Vinnie" are the best morning duo on SF Bay Area Radio. The ALICE (97.3) --the two lovebirds have a biting, sarcastic, sticky, bodacious time of it all and that's NOT EVEN IN THE STUDIO PART!

Sarah is edgy and frank, wild really, while Vinnie likes to play bad boy, bad cop. There's a symmetry here and one which you can't stop.
Oh and furthermore, the FM kingpins make a whopping $1.5 MILLION each.

Is Dion Lim and Jessica Castro getting along? Watching them during the morning newscast and Jessica is trying to defeat Dion with no chemistry between them.

DeleteJessica Castro is pathetic and getting worse -- she can't even read the teleprompter, though she's hardly new at this. Lately, her princess attitude has been showing, which makes her more insufferable than ever. Is Reggie Aqui really on vacation this week, or is he just fed up with her?

ReplyDeleteMicheal Savage has alway been way over the top. But he is so xenophobic and racist now it's getting very difficult for me to listen to him for any amount of time. Borders, Language, Culture is his montra and he is sure that if the white man falls our USA will cease to exist. His one saving grace is his hatred for Fox, Hannity, and Limbaugh.

DeleteIt is obvious that he is phoning it in. His podcasts are sloppy and amateurish. He is lazy and should retire into the good night. Always bashing homeless and immigrants. Such compassion. Just go away already.
Each station is guilty of gutless managing, letting such sources, rumors, gossip, etc get out of hand. Great for RL and anybody else, but if you want your respective station to get a grip, you as a key viewer may want to stand up to the management wall and chisel a few cracks and ask what is the matter with them and their station. Oh, whatever! One ear and out the other, even toward the most respected personalities, viewers, and other buyers! Enjoy these circuses!

What started this?
Ben Shapiro is undeniably the most interesting conservative in media today. The man is brilliant, quick, and his positions are so well grounded, they are difficult for others to argue. He gets his points across without appearing hateful, bitter, or unfair. Really enjoy the intellect he demonstrates in approaching the issues.
DeleteKSFO was actually willing to carry Savage for three hours locally. But Savage was so butthurt that he was cut to one hour nationally, he did not bother to do a third hour for KSFO.
DeleteFor a while KSFO carried his one hour + podcast second hour +
a repeat of Savage's first hour. But then KSFO wisely chose to drop the lazy Savage for repeat third hour. Why repeat the third hour when Ben Shapiro has a fresh hour available?
SF is a huge market. Savage should have done 3 hours locally if he cared. But he does not care. Good riddance. I'll listen to Ben Shapiro.

I'm not a conservative, but enjoy listening to reasonable conservative hosts, Tom Sullivan and Michael Medved comes to mind. I have listened to Shapiro, he is bright enough, but he has a terrible radio voice, and his arguments can be a little convoluted.

Perfect for that show Beavis and Butthead humour for guys in 60s. KNBR wasted money on those two.
ReplyDeleteDo you know how well that show does in the ratings? And it's killing the competition on TheGame? Lund I could take or leave but Tolbert has been highly successful for what, 20 years? I don't think KNBR considers it a waste of money.
