415 Media Exclusive: Did Zouves and KGO Milk Hair Mousse Fall? 'Damn Right They Did'; Natives at 900 Front Aren't Buying It; 'Just in Time for Sweeps; The Inside Story

I ASSUME YOU WATCHED THE BULLSHIT, RIGHT?

This is all that.

Let us cut to the chase and give you many of the reasons why you come here and that is because you want the truth and not the BS spin you get from PR flacks who like to shape a story and make sure the public buys it. It's their job to get it out their version, They shape the spin on all fronts except they can't control me, and thus I give you the real story.

Image result for Natasha ZouvesNatasha Zouves came back on the air and provided you some lovely, heart-spoken drama; she could just have easily performed her skit on General Hospital but even there, the other players would have laughed. Problem, is, you really bought the shit! I have a e-mail buddy named Gil who seems to be out of the Natasha amen corned flabbergasted at my dismissal of Countess Zouves.

Listen up:

All this shit comes just in time for Sweeps, what a coincidence.

She's still detested by her colleagues at KGO. They still believe she milked her fall and took advantage of it so she could get away from the mayhem at 900 Front. From my sources there, I believe them.

First of all, concussion is not really serious. Football players who are 200 pounds heavier than Zouves get concussions --some have played after their injury. It's not a day at the beach, obviously, but it's no big deal either. There's exceptions, yes, granted, but the point here is that Natasha found an opening (with dad's help, a doctor) and went for it, all with the apparent blessing of ABC and Disney, by extension. What could they do? Nothing really so, the thinking goes, let's make the most of it. They did; she did; a ratings/PR bonanza.

How do I know this?

Look, I don't doubt Natasha's story. She fell flat on her ass and hit her head. It's been almost a year since the accident --a doctor friend told me 80% of concussion symptoms go away in weeks, not months and that they are mild. Could Zouves case be different? Sure. But I don't buy it, neither do KGO people.

This is my latest take from several ABC7 sources: Zouves made a deal with station brass and her lawyer that she'd come back and play nice (no lawsuit) if she got her gig back and co-workers lay off her. ABC suits, after hearing from her experience and subsequent aftermath figured out a way they could milk it themselves; like, damn, this shit can benefit all of us...just in time for sweeps.

  1. It's true that football players get concussions"all the time", but to imply that it's no big deal is to dismiss the considerable medical evidence that traumatic brain injury is a big deal. It doesn't matter if you slip and fall on a football or a can of hair product, if the impact is intense enough to cause concussive injury, it can be very serious and for a very long time, if not forever.

    1. You are right. Thank you... from someone who passed out and fell off of a toilet and hit my head. I haven't been right since. Everyone/head is different. Making fun of someone seems so easy.

  2. God bless her! Excellent work for the little girl. We can all learn from her example. Don't settle for being pushed around by management and/or coworkers.

Concussions, by the way, have devastating symptoms that may not surface for decades. Any concussion is a serious injury and not to be taken lightly.

  3. "concussion is not really serious"
Rich: CONCUSSION IS NOT REALLY SERIOUS???
I think YOU may have had a concussion somewhere along the way, bro, to come up with a statement like that.
    Get a grip, dude.

  4. Veronica De La Cruz had a concussion and she came back in 5 months, are you saying Veronica lied using her version of concussion to deal with personal issues??

If she really work out a deal with KGO 7, this just shows the truth and the bad side of her. Why work out a deal, sue the station, get the money and move on. And, either she does not get along with the staffs or the staffs boycott her.

If KGO 7 or ABC won't renew her contract, is she going to sue back or she use this to keep the job forever possibly becoming the next evening news anchor????

    1. That must be why she calls you by a different name when you do that...

  6. Thinking concussions are no big deal may be a sign of a concussion.

What qualifies you or "KGO people" to opine on medical issues?
What else don't you "buy" with no apparent basis for your skepticism? The moon landing, evolution, law of gravity? Is the earth flat? I'm not one of her fans but that doesn't mean her injury wasn't real.

      Hi, Dr. Zouves!

  8. Oook, I wish her the best but NOT ON KGO. The AM Team was great and now just a sea of tension with Ms. Superior deva at the head.

  9. Would we have the same reaction if it were STEVE DAVIS who slipped on the can?

  10. Natasha had News Director Watkowski over a barrel. If she let her go, Natasha would have sued and Watkowski has already had more than her share of unhappy employees (remember what happened to Heather Ishimaru). Also have you noticed how male reporters almost don't exist at ABC7, if it wasn't for Dan Ashley the entire 11pm was all women. Another sign of male bashing from Watkowski.

  11. .... at the end of the day Rich, no one really cares about the Natasha saga. It's just not really that big a deal. Bread and Circus's only goes so far .

  12. All right, let me amend my previous comment. I don't doubt her account of the accident or the symptoms (my sister-in-law had a similar injury and I vividly remember how she was the first couple weeks), nor do I doubt it was hard for her to get back to "normal". However, I do think she was off the air for much longer than necessary IF it was simply a case of injury recovery and getting back to work. I believe Rich and his sources that there was lots of other things going on behind the scenes and that there was a good chance we would not have seen The Zouv again on KGO. I'll give credit to the scriptwriter who came up with the copy for Natasha to read about her "return". Emmy-worthy fiction there and good Sweeps material. I got caught up in the delivery and didn't objectively analyze all the details over the year or so she was out. It will be interesting to monitor the morning show dynamics over the next few weeks to see how things progress.

  13. First off, IT IS COMPLETELY APPARENT THERE IS TENSION ON THE SET. Even if you don't know the backstory, something seems off...

  14. It is OBVIOUS that something is off on the morning news set. The most OBVIOUS thing, is right at the beginning of each half hour when it starts. It USED to be, that all anchors were sitting at the desk, from Alex Smith, Reggie, Jessica, Natasha, and Mike Nicco. All five would be sitting there at the beginning. But not this week! It starts off with Reggie and Natasha, and then you hear "voices from the dark", and then it gets "thrown" to the weather or traffic departments. Oh and finally, we get to hear a few tidbits from Jessica Castro, on the dusty live desk. Clearly, they are keeping everyone separated for some reason! Reggie HAS to be there on the desk as co anchor with Natasha, but everyone else seems to be keeping their distances. What surprises me is that KGO is not even hiding it!

  15. Is Jessica planning to leave KGO 7 having no chance to get her spotlight back? With her masters' degree, she should move to a better station as a main anchor or find one on Univision and Telemudo since she speaks Spanish.

  16. Beautiful picture of Natasha! Her shadow is even sexy! She is in a league of her own, meaning she has zero competition.

The women are the News, always will be...I give you Natasha! She is "way beyond" extra special!
