Stunned, Shocked Anger at KNBR: Hosts Don't Get a Blue Box And They're Steamed!

Related image LOTS ...and I do mean LOTS of STUNNED and SHOCKED KNBR Radio hosts over near the Battery/Broadway gulch and WHY?

The famous BLUE BOX is back. You know what I mean, right? We've been down this road before just a few blocks down at KGO-TV.

Forget about why this Blue Box is so important and powerful? Well, make good of this deal at Knibber.

"Murph and Mac" didn't get one and are ROYALLY PISSED OFF! So too Tom Tolbert and John Lund--both of who didn't get one and were flabbergasted. It's hard to make Tolbert incredulous in light of recent past history. .

Gary Radnich and Larry Krueger didn't get the blue box and Radnich was so ticked off he stayed at the station last week and met with PD, Jerimiah Crowe. The young buck programmer at Cumulus SF had no word for a semi-screaming Radnich who, in addition to being snubbed on the Blue Box deal, has been stalled (intentionally) on contract negotiations. Meanwhile, Krueger, was simply unable to say anything. Not.a.word. How this affects current programming is anyone's guess. My prediction? Business as usual on the air but off the air? Whoa!

Why is this Blue Box so important and why are middle-aged men working at a sports radio station so perturbed at not getting one? Just wait and soon you'll discover how this blue box made all these white guys just beyond themselves.

  1. There is a rumor that Brian Copeland’s son is getting a new time slot on KNBR. He already has a show in the mornings and I guess they’re looking to move him to another time. I wonder who he will replace.

    1. He's a pompous know-it-all. He thinks he knows it ALL. While is IS knowledgeable, he needs to stay in his lane. Smarmy fucker if there was ever one.

    2. Does Copeland’s daughter still work at Cumulus now that her dads show is gone?

  3. I understand that you want to tease for a subsequent issue of your blog. But for those of us who don't know what the blue box is, this blog doesn't mean a lot.

Those of us lay people who don't know the inside protocals of local broadcasting would appreciate you giving us the whole story, or at least enough context to understand your news scoop.

  4. They'll probably move him in at night when Franzen starts with the Phillies this season. He's actually pretty good.

  6. You know, the last time this tease was used (in reference to KGO), you promised a follow-up explaining it all. You never followed up. Now you use the ploy again, and again promise to follow-up with an explanation. I won't hold my breath, but would appreciate an explanation since you brought it up. What the heck ya talkin' about, Rich?

  9. As a subscriber I don't read your blog to get a worthless tease. Don't lower yourself to crappy reality TV standards. Just tell us what's up
