*Dave Clark, KTVU "MO2" anchor, this morning asked a Fox News correspondent, Lauren Blanchard, in Vegas covering the massacre and its post mortem, "How has this affected you?"
The blondiful reporter had to look at her notebook to provide an answer and that's when I switched the channel.
I'm sure Blanchard was hired for her astute journalistic attributes.
HEY, Heather Holmes: one of your best friends at KTVU tells me "I know you {me) don't like her but she tries really hard."
Fine, and I have no doubt but seriously, if you want the real reason why I'm not a HH fan it's because she dresses like she just got out of a South Beach strip club. Can't take her seriously. Button up, Madam Holmes.
*As long as I'm dumping (legitimately) on the local FOX cult, I might as well get into Steve Paulson and Sal Castaneda acting glib and foolish --trying to be overly hip only it doesn't work anymore when the viewers know BS when they see it. If you guys want to act chummy, then be chummy but don't put on an act --it's a bad look and it smacks of insincerity. Because it IS.
*Castaneda used to be a likeable guy that made traffic reports interesting with his quick wit and straightforward delivery--now, Sal has become a grumpy, jerky, disingenuous lout and worse yet, talks behind everyone's back. Maybe he should re-check the ego.
*There's no hope for morning irritant-supreme, the human windbag, Gaaaaaasia Mikaelian, who embarrasses the KTVU brand with her blatant showboating and extremely vile, fake, phony, anchoring; Gasia, there's an opening at "Beach Blanket Babylon." Call your agent.
*Yeah, if you notice a pattern here, sooner or later if you're working for Fox, there's a clear understanding that in order to curry favor with management and maintain employment you must act like a complete dick; talk shit behind your friends and colleagues back; and kiss and tell quite rapidly.
Castaneda and Leigh Martinez know the handbook by heart. They are prime members of "The Firm"
*Giants' radio broadcaster, Dave Flemming, has been doing a ton of ESPN broadcasts lately -- seemingly on eternal "on assignment" --and that's the issue for SF: Flemming wants to be the top banana at the mike but Jon Miller isn't going anywhere so now you have a conflict in the broadcast booth.
Flemming seems to love the ESPN gig because there's a good chance he'd become the #1 guy on their Sunday Night Baseball package.
Looks like Larry Baer might have to offer a portion of Coit Tower to keep Flemming around.
*DO TELL ME: What was the purpose of sending local reporters to Vegas? I don't see it; was it because in the handbook you MUST send your reporter --simply for the sake of "being there." It's ridiculous and stupid too. Not to mention a waste of money. The networks and cable outlets sent their people there and it was bad enough but the locals could have used their coverage. There was NOTHING I learned by any of the local yokels jaunt to Vegas to do a benign live shot from a church where there's people giving blood.
*Hey, a jolt of lightening from 95.7 FM, 'The Game': Chris Townsend is a certified schmuck. Another guy that talks behind people's back, standard requirements of an all-sports talk-radio station that nobody can hear.
*Tracey Watkowski would be gone
from KGO-TV ...I said she
"might be gone"...and yes,
she wasn't 86ed but wait another
few weeks and then get back
to me.
Watkowski's days are numbered
any which way you look simply
because she's costing the company money
and she doesn't add a lick to the
operation. Furthermore, she's alienated
everyone but the janitor.
Put two and two together.
Hows this for local TV being hypocrites? They tweet..and yet you see no tweets returned. They go to nowhere. KPIX does that for one. If its one way- its not social media is it?
ReplyDeleteI get replies sometimes. Maybe they just know your reputation.
DeleteSo true 1:06, so so true. That and maybe they really don't give a shit about social media? I know I don't.
DeleteI've heard a few mention they only post online because management wants them to have a social media presence. As Gary has mentioned, if I was an on-air personality I wouldn't want to communicate back and forth with some moron knocking you who is most likely sitting in their chair holding themselves and just finished looking at porn. Lots of lonely people out there.
HH: I also think she wears hair extensions, as the length of her locks seems to change often. And she has the IQ of a turnip but so does Ken Bastida and that doesn't seem to bother you.
ReplyDeleteBTW, you should do some calling around with your moles at KTVU to see if something is wrong with Bill Martin. The guy's acting flakier and flakier on air, and no one but me seems to notice.
HH: But does the carpet match the drapes? Or do we have a laminate floor scenario like all of the young girls nowadays?
DeleteAnonymous @ 10:49, is it possible that Bill Martin could be flakier? I don't watch him regularly, but when I do, he seems to be stuck so far in his mellow 'groove' that he invariably gets his days mixed up. On Tuesday night, he'll tell us 'Here's what this system is going to do on Tuesday mor...I mean, WEDNESDAY morning, and as Wednesday goes into Fri...THURSday...dude..."
Delete"laminate floor scenario"...classic...
Delete5 reasons why the locals sent crews to Vegas.
ReplyDelete*Bonded cellpacks make it easy for your guys to go "live" all by yourselves....
*Cheap flights...many each day from all over CA...
* "Local" victims of all types...
*The network reporters suck worse than your own reporters...
*$29 rooms Sun-Thurs at Hooters Hotel right across the street.
In the words of Jimmy from PULP FICTION, Casteneda "looks like a couple of dorks".
ReplyDeleteDick Lieberman on a roll! Great stuff today. So true. Fox2 sucks tool. No doubt.
ReplyDeleteFlemming should get the hell out of San Francisco. Otherwise, he'll become a zombie like Kuiper and Krukow and Miller. Larry will tell them what to say and what to feel. Hey, Los Gigantes sucked the big one this year. Here's hoping for a few more lousy years. Maybe then the money spending public will finally think twice about their season tickets and spend the money elsewhere.
Chris Townsend is like all of the other sports talk dweebs. Just read the web sites, look at the blogs, don't go to games and you'll think you'll know it all. Gee, sounds like Fatnich, the master of fraud.
So many dicks.
DeleteSo few Richards.
WHO let Dave Clark ask anybody a question? I often get worried and nervous when our local news crews are allowed to ask questions directed to network or other city reporters. This is a perfect example. Embarrassing to the city of San Francisco.
ReplyDeleteSal kept his prima dona self under wraps until FOX gave him permission to put it on the air. Another form of Foxification.
Tracey departure if it is officially true is too good to be true. The morning crew must be change to a different crew, my choice Eric and Jessica. I watch Jessica on Sunday Beyond Headlines segment on Latinos, I was so shock how wonderful she is doing the reporting, great image and professional talent. It is a waste if she leaves KGO, overqualified for the morning anchor spot.
ReplyDeleteThe Giants are fortunate to have Dave Flemming. He's on top of things while Miller seems to be slipping (messing up big calls--remember "Buster Posey's good friend, Hunter Pence"?). Chris Townsend always sounds like he's drunk and his voice is too whiny.
ReplyDeleteEric, like anyone on that shift, hates early mornings. My guess he would rather quit than set his alarm for 2am again. BTW, the janitor said Tracey who?
ReplyDeleteAll you do is hate. Why so negative all the time?
ReplyDeleteI actually like Townsend, when he is on solo, not when he is teamed up with the idiots they stick him with. and he did sound drunk a couple weeks ago after the Raiders home opener, too much partaking of the tailgating i would think, his speech was slurred and he made some gaffes.
