Ryan Leong Gets The Business For Asking Lebron James Stupid Question; Monday Opener

Ryan Leong --a freelance radio reporter for AP (and other outlets) asked Lebron James after last night's Warriors' blowout a fairly stupid question. (Watch the above video) ...I've been in a lot of those moments, mistakes happen. I feel sorry for Leong who clearly should know better but to be gang tackled by James and the butt of jokes on Bay Area radio isn't my cup of tea.

Clearly, I've heard worse.

Had James just brushed aside the question and moved forward it would have been cool and professional but I guess I'm asking too much.

  1. A better one would've been: why does Tristan Thompson have max contract?

  2. Here to report: KRON'S "Sports Director" was the only local anchor not to go to the NBA Championship AT HOME.
He's now dancing around that fact on radio.

    Sports@ 70? He's got knitting to do..

    1. Radnich was at the finals last with his son.

You should change your name to Stan TheEnquirer with all of the fake news you pass around...

    3. @Stan
Other stations have sports directors. Could you have been watching another channel?

    4. Stan is seldom right but never in doubt. A real legend in his own mind.

    5. Gee, that's one game in the last decade..you clowns. If true. Any photos?
He wasn't there the last 2 years.

    7. Stan is his own source, whatever he says is true because he believes it.

    8. Stan when you're as good as Gary you don't need to attend the games personally.

  3. If everybody is giving him a hard time for this question then they clearly are in a slow news day....I hear worse daily..James is pissed because his team has been smoked two games in a row...

  5. "...James is pissed because his team has been smoked two games in a row"

A mixture of pissed and resigned to his fate. Cavs may snag a home game but barring any additional "help," the Warriors are destined.

  6. Radnich was at game with his son. Pleasure outing, not working. He stated he would rather watch at home, if he couldn't share the experience with a loved one.

    1. LOL,yeah right. He probably got there in the 2nd and left after the third.
Radnich is his own loved one!
That would make the FIRST of the Warriors or any other local pro team PLAYOFF game he's gone to in the last decade.
Never believe what he says on air. I know the man to lie like Donald Trump- look ya in the eye and never blink at his tall tale. Going to games or Kenya birth certificates.
His now playing the role of happy father sort of fly's in the face of welcoming racists to his show.
      THAT'S the real Radnich.

  7. I've heard worse and probably from the idiots making all the noise about what Leong did. All he was trying to do was get James to give him answer. Maybe the question could've been phrased differently, but it is what it is. What Leong did will pass. It's not like Kathy Griffin holding a bloody head of the president. It's just a question after a basketball game. Meanwhile, Radnich is trying to figure out how he's going to pay for his dry cleaning. Here's some advice Fatnich: carry the basket full of laundry downstairs your fat self.

  8. As a former co-worker with Leong when he worked at Shadow Traffic, I can attest he's a clueless tool all hopped up on his own false sense of self-accomplishment. A huge sports fan, but zero skills or training as a reporter or broadcaster.

Proof that anyone who will sign up for the dead-end minimum-wage future of broadcasting will be put on the air -- regardless of how inane his comments or reports are.

    1. This morning I heard an interview with Kevin Jones on 1050AM. He essentially confirmed your observations. "unprofessional" . . . "should have had his press pass pulled . . ." Ouch!

  9. "Proof that anyone who will sign up for the dead-end minimum-wage future of broadcasting will be put on the air...."

I was first offered a minimum wage job in radio in the 1980's. I turned it down. Things have not improved much in the industry, but it seems to be losing some of its' appeal.

Do you suppose that the fact that broadcasting companies are mostly national chains now might have something to do with the fact that they compete with McDonalds for entry level hires? Maybe if Cumulus, iHeart and CBS can all merge into one entity, they can successfully lobby the Trump administration for a waiver to pay LESS than minimum wage!
