PM Bullet Points: KGO Radio; KQED Radio/TV; KRON; KFOG; KPIX; KTVU; 415 Media

*KGO Radio: Don't underestimate severe morale by staff over working conditions at the albatross 810 AM station. The people are pissed off. They can't stand Anthony (Mike) the PD and they abhor Justin Wittmayer (the Cumulus SF bigwig; a disaster who couldn't cut it in sales and is even worse running radio stations)  If Anthony is fired (a very real possibility) then Witymayer goes too...A side issue: the complete hate of Ethan Bear!-Man by all the hosts. Anthony sent out an office wide memo asking talk hosts to basically kiss Bearman's ass because he's on Fox News. Yeah, Mikey, that'll go over real well. By the way, "Armstrong and Getty" a goner any day now. Your constipation will soon abate over the Branson twosome.

*KQED Radio and TV: The little people: those that make the radio and TV stations run are fuming over the latest revelations of a prominent higher-up who makes well over $500G who took a week-long vacation at station expense! Rank and file up in arms. KQED still doesn't have a clue.

*KRON: Morning Traffic anchor, Robin Winston: major complaints from behind-scenes staff; they call her a "supreme diva" and obscenely egotistical. I'm sure there's issues to reckon with because Winston is still writing me anonymous comments which is fine only her vitriol is ripe with insults. Fess up, madam.

*K-FOG: Only thing missing is a casket. Major problems. Too bad too, like KGO a legacy station with call letters to die for; oh, the morning idiot with an ego almost as big as Ronnnnn's? Yikes.

*KPIX: Morning Show staff continues to fight issues that won't go away. A failure like no others. Getting killed at night too. Hey, you still think Alan Martin is a plus? It could be worse: he could be Kenny Choi. Wallpaper in the AM.

KTVU: How could everyone at Jack London Square be so miserable when the TV station is beating the bejesus out of everybody --11 PM included. It starts with how Fox treats its little people who get surprise cuts in their salaries...oh, Castaneda wants to get paid too. (About time, watch out)

*415 Media: Still running on fumes but somehow manage to keep you all informed. (For now at least). C'mon people, step up to the plate.

My constipation abated when Krueger stopped turning the men's room at the Rohnert Park Popeye's into a hazmat zone.

  2. Armstrong and Getty can be annoying, 4 hours are too much, and we don't really need them on a San Francisco station, since most of the Bay Area can get them on 650 a.m. Sacramento. Having said that I think you might be a little too tough on them. Compared to Katie's and Sussman's weird noises and repeating words over and over again in an ever higher voice (do they think the audience is hard of hearing?) they sound almost Cosmopolitan. They are not all right wing, they do have some decent interviews, Mike Lyons military expert, Ian Brenner foreign affairs expert. Last week the had someone on who compared health insurance in different countries, I didn't hear all of it (woke up to late) but Switzerland was one, and a few other, very informative. So although I get Rich's critic of them, I don't think they are that easy to pigeon hole.

  3. KPIX:

Liz Cook has a degree from The University of Southern California, and she still struggles with indefinite article usage. That is a lesson she should have mastered in grade school.

    1. Is she writing the text used on the teleprompter? If not, if she is reading what someone else wrote, she is not at fault and it should be taken up with whoever wrote it. My feeling is that the practical jokers in your profession are legendary and jokers are constantly trying to trip each other up, just to keep things interesting. I like Liz Cook. I believe she does a spectacular job anchoring on KPIX and I'm always delighted to see her work.

    2. 6:06,

That is quite a spectacular review for an anchor (or to use a Liz-ism, "a anchor") who has had a reputation for being less than brilliant, in many respects. Your "feeling" is just that. Liz is pleasant and presentable enough, but her flaws are glaring. And the suggestion that some of those flaws are caused by malevolent coworkers is an example of rationalization.

  5. "K-FOG... the morning idiot with an ego almost as big as Ronnnnn's" -- uh, Pinfield has been gone since the beginning of the month. Another genius Cumulus idea, a guy who was a totally bad fit for the market.
