Just a 'Hunka-Hunka' Burning Love; The 415 Media Blogger Turns 55; Please Call the Authorities

Image result for birthday 55 years old Birthdays after 40 don't register a lot on the "it" scale but here I am, birthday #55, I made it this far and God willing, I'd like a few more.

I didn't plan on making a fuss out of all this but on Facebook I'm getting overwhelmed and frankly, I'm both exalted and embarrassed.

One of my "friends", a motel chain wished me a happy birthday. Only this could happen to me. (A freakin' motel chain!)

I could say a lot about 55. Sounds like an elephant in today's millennial world but I'm happy to be here for the most part; I could do without all the social media mildew and yearn for the good old days of quiet Italian dinners and Sinatra and BB King on the jukebox.

But that was then and this is now.
I'm blogging. How wonderful in case you didn't notice or care. Some of what I write makes sense; mostly the other stuff does not; you come here for amusement and interest and hopefully I deliver for the most part but I understand your frustration when the boob posts appear or when I'm in one of my daily crappy moods.

Although I'm 55 I still feel like I'm 35. That's weird because twenty years is a big deal just like when I was 20 --which still seems like yesterday--that was a big deal too.

I take life day by day now and don't want to assume anything anymore and you shouldn't either. I've made a ton of mistakes in life and now can only hope the forces give me a little more time to atone for my sins of which there are plenty.

The blog is still up and running and allows me the opportunity to continue to write for you and keep you pegged on 415 Media as long as you support my endeavor with your much-needed donations and contributions. (You knew I couldn't pass up the chance to solicit mostly because there's about 12 cents in the Pay Pal account so do the right thing...)

Later today, I will try to put my best happy face forward and pretend that I'm just a hunka-hunka burning love, 55 will do that to you.

  1. I'm 71 and I too miss the "old days" before social media when people actually talked to each other in person rather than by email or text. But those days are gone forever never to return do here I am posting to a blog. How sad for me and all others in the same boat. Good post Rich, don't dwell on the past, it is gone with only memories of what we once had. Cheers.

  3. According to Radnich today- Its fine if you date somebody 20 if you are ready to start your family at 55. NEVER date a much younger woman just for sex. Radnich says that's wrong.
    Funny.

  6. Happy Birthday Rich!! You will be around for many more years because you have good genes/jeans/levis, which come from your 94 year old Mother, who I hope is doing great!

Your still a kid. I will be 71 next month, you are a newbie. I was a slow learner and at the age of 55 I was still in 6th grade, the teachers hated me!

I have only two goals in life. One is to survive and the other, outlive all the people I don't like!

Sooo Happy Birthday again, and I hope you have many more. If I could use all the words I know to tell you how much I love the 415, it would make you cry, and I don't want to do that on your birthday!

God, apple pie, women in short skirts and the 415 is all I need!

And to all of us...When we die we will be dead for a very long time, so enjoy each and every day!

  10. Happy B-Day Rich! 55 is the new 25 as my aunt would say. My uncle used to say the body starts falling apart like an old Pinto after 40, but I ignored that! :)
