Mallicoat To Co-Anchor 'Weekend MO2' on KTVU; No More Palombo

As I speculated that Frank Mallicoat would become a Morning anchor at KTVU, its now become official that he will co-anchor "Mornings on 2--Weekend", (with Claudine Wong) beginning May 7th.

More importantly, Mallicoat's gig wipes the hideous Ross Palombo from the weekend KTVU screen.

Ross Palombo off MO2
Huzzah.

Why Donald Trump Didn't Do Ronn Owens KGO Radio Show Friday But Did 'Savage Nation'; Inside Story

Donald Trump was supposed to be on the phone with Ronn Owens today (Friday) --supposed to.

Owens and his producer had been plugging the short 10-minute phone interview since Wednesday --only one problem.

Trump pulled out of the interview early today --word got back to the Trump campaign that KGO's Owens had been bad-mouthing him (Trump) since early in the primary campaign. In fact, Owens belittled the validity of Trump even after Trump had secured major victories.

When Owens got Trump confirmed for his show, his description of The Donald suddenly changed. Insults became admiration. Rip jobs disappeared --gees, I wonder why? Owens speculated on his show that maybe "Michael Savage called Trump and told him not to do Ronn's show."

Uh, Ronn, it wasn't that; it was your lengthy RIP jobs and insults --he doesn't like double-takers. Pure and simple.

Savage had nothing to do with it.

Trust me.

By the way, Trump did do the Michael Savage Show at 1: 35 PM PT.

Mallicoat Boston Stint Helped Secure KTVU Gig; Probably AM or 'KTVU Plus' Time Slot; KGO-TV's 'Donnie and Marie' Nosedive in Morning Ratings; Papa's New Deal at CSNBA; Friday 415 Media Nuggets

IT DIDN'T HURT that Frank Mallicoat --soon on his way to a gig at KTVU--has worked with VP/GM Gregg Kelley and ND, Dana Hahn, both of them in Boston at the Fox O and O, WFXT.

There's no indication, yet, just when and where Mallicoat will anchor but I would bet morning and noon. KTVU has strong ratings in the AM but a Mallicoat presence could bolster that time slot. Plus, as an astute reader pointed out, Mallicoat might be primed to work KTVU Plus, formerly KICU (TV 36) which was rebranded and has essentially become an additional news/traffic and weather outpost for KTVU.

*At KGO-TV, the ratings are taking a nosedive in the new Morning Show otherwise known as "Donnie and Marie." The ultra gimmicks and unintentional parody put forth by Reggie Aqui and Natasha Zouves have been Rejected by the Bay Area Local TV News viewership, thank God.

*Greg Papa's new deal at CSNBA is 3 years, $1.5M or $500K--there's a mutual option for 2020 so Papa and family can still eat well.

*Jim Kozimor has been away from the CSNBA airwaves dealing with a "small, personal issue" but will be back soon. Many of you have asked and I answer.

*Those of you that keep asking me why Gary Radnich has barely acknowledged Brittany Shipp is because he's been told to "lay off" her. Period. In other words, Raddy can't do the Don Rickles act around her because she wants no part of his shit. Even KRON has standards --barely, but they do.

*KRON can do as much news as it wants to and rearrange anchors; the verdict still is the same: NO viewers. And as much as I'm critical of KTVU, its 10 PM News will kill KRON's new Ten --I mean, we're talking savage here.

*Meanwhile at PIX, they've pretty much given up in the morning with a news show that is bland at best. Or as someone put it, "CSPAN 4 Bay Area with a Hawaiian edge." Ouch!

*Oh, yes, Mallicoat has been Foxified. Part of the gig now.

It's Official: Frank Mallicoat Coming to KTVU

It's NOW official --the ousted KPIX morning news anchor is coming to KTVU, the deal went down --Mallicoat will anchor and report, no specific time of the day although expect Mallicoat to have a lot of prime air real estate.

KTVU has a massive credibility gap with all the newbie reporters and anchors and a guy like Mallicoat--who is well-liked by both viewers and staff alike, should help KTVU right off the bat--which presumably why he was hired.

Check back later for more details...

415 Media Spy: Former PIX Morning Player Mallicoat Possibly Headed to KTVU

NOTHING IS OFFICIAL but our spies indicate that former KPIX Morning player, Frank Mallicoat is probably headed across the bay to KTVU.

We don't know whether its in the AM, Midday, or PM but we do know he and Fox2 are still negotiating.

Mallicoat was recently given the boot from KPIX --and in spite of being a popular presence on Battery, that didn't translate well in the ratings department.

Mallicoat has family here and has indicated to friends his desire to remain in the Bay Area and still work in TV News.

This is a case where both parties can help each other.

We'll monitor the situation and update when more info is available.

KNBR Tonsil Larry Krueger in Too-Tight Jersey But He Loves the Warriors

Uh, maybe a Double XL would have been a better choice.

It's Official: The 'New 98.1 FM The Breeze' is Really Sort of Ludicrous

Someone asked me recently why I've cut back on writing about Bay Area radio. OK, fair question. Simple answer. Do this: listen to the terrestrial tripe that currently exists and you'll understand my lack of radio posts.

IHeart Radio has foisted the latest pack of crap on the airwaves in the form of another innocuous, almost ludicrous offering called "The Breeze" --98.1 FM, which flipped from urban oldies to the mass dreck of "soft AC"--just what we need: Celine Dion, Lionel Richie, Michael Bolton and Vanessa Williams.

Maybe we should all get out our hula hoops and bell bottoms too and do the hustle. Who the hell was responsible for this? A former groupie for Rick Dees?

Don't get me wrong, I miss 1976 quite a bit. I was 14 and had a major crush on Mrs. Matlock but that was 40 years ago. Granted, there were no cell phones and selfies but fantasies are just that, fantasies --if I wanted retro FM radio in the form of oldies, I'd prefer more Spinners and The O' Jays over Mariah Carey.

Celine Dion? Oy Vey.

Greg Papa is due to get $500K from CSNBA Shortly and He's Worth It

Greg Papa has been a Bay Area sports broadcast stalwart for three decades and is worthy to get paid $500K; just from CSNBA alone and he will, shortly. A contract extension is in the works.

Good for Pop.

The 500 Grand doesn't include Pop's Raiders and The Game's duties.

Supposedly, Papa has a lot of overhead --he's in good company there.

Hey, Let Us All Back Off On Screwing with Roberta Gonzales (Including Me)

ROBERTA GONZALES's problem is that some people forget she's really Roberta Gonzales, yeah, that Roberta.

Let me first state that I love Roberta; just can do with less Robertaisms until I note the fact its the Robertaisms that has men; young and old; women; parents, PTA members, the school principals, the girl-scouts that sell cookies outside Safeway that ADORE Roberta; heck, I think she's regional now.

Roberta Gonzales is KPIX's #-1 most-popular personality. She can be the most annoying human being on the planet; she can reek with what one might seem uncanny phoniness but for the most part, it's all very real.

And for the most part, the "very real" is fine--I mean, seriously, we have some serious shit in the world going on and the mother of all serious shit currently playing out, so a hunk of Roberta isn't the worst thing on the menu. Roberta raised some good kids and is a good mother and cares about her own mother so she's suddenly not turned into Kathy Bates' character, Misery.

She's sort of yucky at times; how do I know? Because I said it, here. But I also acknowledge she's been able to make it here too, for well almost three decades under some of the most difficult circumstances, on and off the screen. One thing, for sure, she's consistent. That's saying something particularly in today's nutsy environment.

I chide Roberta for the breathless delivery; she does it way too much and she needn't because Roberta without the cutesy persona is just as cool as Roberta, wonder bread. But I forgot: that's Roberta! So as much as I can't stand the uber-yenta presentation (especially on radio) I can take it in stride because, BREAKING NEWS!, Roberta is still something visually to behold. And in a market that reeks of plastic boob enhancement and overt phony persona University, I'll take Gonzales over the rest of 'em, most of whom couldn't match RG one iota if their life depended on it.

I'll say this too. Roberta works with a staff half of which don't particularly like her and a News Director that has tried mightily to ace her out of the main KPIX domain. It's one thing to object to an air talent you don't like professionally; it's another to go after her on a personal level. That's not cool. So she's not Mother Teresa, big deal. She's got a huge heart too. That's saying something.

This is not an endorsement for Roberta Gonzales. She doesn't need it. It's a plug for someone who has had to endure and persevere in a tough market and I salute her for that.

So there.

The Big Power Lunch Powwow at North Beach Restaurants; Top Secret; BANG Layoffs; KGO-TV's Rank and File Disgust; Lawrence Karnow Surfaces on KRON; KTVU/FOX Akin to 'Scientology Membership'? Griego 'Shit Disturber' at PIX; Monday Opener

THREE LOCAL TV HEAVYWEIGHTS--(whatever that means today) were having a big power lunch powwow Friday afternoon at the North Beach Restaurant; downstairs and nowhere near sight where deals are made and decisions pondered. They were not there to kibbutz about the prosciutto and melon, trust me.

*Yeah, Lawrence Karnow has returned to the local TV Weather department: Karnow, a former PIX predictor, is now the weekend PM guesser on KRON.

*The BANG people are laying off more than 10 Copy Editors, and a few veteran reporters for those 12 of you that still read a newspaper.

*It's not so much that KGO-TV news people are disgusted with the direction of the operation; that they are flabbergasted over the daily morning "Donnie and Marie" histrionics; they have ZERO faith in the news director, Tracey Watkowski-Silva and her boss, GM, Billy Burton.  Other than that, everything's peachy at 900 Front. Or, as one veteran staffer told me, "If we didn't carry the Warriors right now during the playoffs, this place would really be in the dumper."

*KTVU: See above item minus the Warriors. The present working conditions in a nutshell: "Working at Fox-owned stations is akin to being in Scientology."  I didn't say that but a senior editor did. The person wanted to go on the record but was afraid of the consequences. Maybe KTVU should talk about how Fox plays with people's minds.

*I will repeat this again and again: some people at KTVU are extremely worried and are having anxiety over talking to people (me) even off the premises. Some of them are those who have over years and years of time employed. So, congratulations, Fox, for creating a gulag in Jack London Square.

*So far, the Hawaii guy, Mr. Choi, on PIX in the morning? Dear lord. Another beautiful move by the dopey guy who makes beer runs after 6 with the sports guy. How PBRish.

In a year, they'll send Choi packing for Fresno and hire yet another morning mercenary. Somewhere, Kessler, Kohara and Mallicoat are laughing up a storm.

Michelle Griego
*New Michelle Griego nickname at PIX: Shit disturber supreme. Translation: Nobody likes her; nobody trusts her either especially since she apparently threw Mallicoat under the bus. A TV News personnel tradition.

KTVU Unease in the Newsroom; Breaking Point; Fear Factor In Place; John Madden Doubtful to Return Anytime Soon; Prince 'Experts' in the 415 Media; Saturday

*Those in the know --the very people who sit and kvetch in the newsroom--insist that at some time sooner than later, a mother of all "breaking point" will hit KTVU. How that plays out nobody has any specific idea, but I'll go out on a limb: some of the senior staff will break out of their corporate muzzle and go directly to the GM, with SAG-AFTRA backing, not that it'll help but it ain't gonna hurt either.

*I can tell you, 100%, that the atmosphere inside KTVU is tantamount to a human pressure cooker. Why, for example, does management spies check for people on their cell phones; why do they eavesdrop on staffers using their computer? Why is there a constant hush/fear factor so prevalent in the newsroom? Maybe Frank Somerville can ask his Facebook followers  their opinion. Never mind.

*A source close to John Madden says it's doubtful that Madden will resume his phone calls to KCBS (and other clients) Madden has been recovering from heart surgery and complications from it and hasn't been on the air since November of last year. Madden, who turned 80 a few week, is hearing from family to "take it easy"--obviously, he doesn't need the money.  Good luck, coach.

*Wonderful, just what we all need: 10,000 continuous MOR 70's dreck from the "new" 98.1 FM--about as inspiring as a new hack on KFOG who thinks REM is still cool.

Huzzah to all you Seals and Croft fans.

*I was astounded to learn of all the local media Prince experts this week. You would have thunk they hung out at all his concerts. As bad as the local muttons were, they didn't come close to the idiocy or CNN head tonsil, Wolf Blitzer, who confused Prince's Purple Rain for Jimi Hendrix. (Purple haze)

"BREAKING NEWS": Wolf fucked up!

Too Many Selfies Mean Jail Time; Heather Holmes KTVU Diva Doesn't Impress The Bosses; Frank Somerville is Larger Than Mere Anchor; Darya: 'I'm Bigger than Radnich'; Happy Earth Day

BAN THE SELFIES. Limit the Selfies.

It's Out of Control. People taking pictures of themselves. News people, or maybe, more appropriately, alleged news people taking pictures of themselves. They should know better.

I have an idea.

Have a rule: News/Sports/Weather people have a "selfie" limit. Allow 4 shots of themselves a month. That's it. Go over it. And then face imprisonment at the county jail.

Stop the selfies.

*It's bad enough that KTVU staffers are placed under a system-wide gag order (implemented by gestapo tactics, courtesy Fox) worse yet, if someone speaks up, they have to watch "The 4".

*Heather Homes: Not impressed by your bitchy, diva status, HH. It appears your heavy-handed tactics are not appreciated by the Jack London Square suits. Maybe years ago when you told management (pre-Fox) that if you weren't considered more star status, you'd be splitting back east.

Two things say you should have taken Hartford over Oakland.

One, more money. Two: You could have avoided Mike Mibach. Slightly less irritating that Mother Teresa, uh, excuse me, Frank Somerville.

Frank could have been a mere newsreader in his life; pity the civilians, Frank instead had a midlife crisis and decided to preach to his amen corner; housewifes in suburbia that bow to Frank's daily missives on that cyber church, Facebook.

Frank cares about you. Frank wants to inspire you. If you're not inspired then we have a problem. How do I know? I have an inner channel with Frank because he inspired me, Little did we know that Frank had a higher calling than mere teleprompter-reading.

Frank cares about the world.

*Dear Darya: is it true that you told a KRON staffer you're "bigger that Radnich?" Funny, I thought you and King Bentley were a combo deal.

Reggie Aqui of KGO-TV With Another Groundbreaking News Tweet

Yeah, a regular Wolf Blitzer. I'm thinking real Pulitzer material. Mornings will never be the same.

Hey, Reggie, can you breakdance too?

KGO and Billy Burton, you should be so proud.

Yeah, I heard Knibber is Making Changes; Next

Over 30 minutes of commercials and updates disguised as news in an hour doesn't make me listen anymore other than if I'm bored or want to check on what the Southern boy racist is farting out.

Truly, they aren't worth the time anymore and a scheduling change doesn't alter my feelings; Smurph and Mac? Are you kidding? I'd rather be incarcerated in Corcoran for a week. That's enough punishment.

Next.

KFOG doesn't register on the IT Domain Anymore, Sorry 'Fog Heads' (Those of You That Still Exist)

KFOG was last relevant about ten years ago; even then, they weren't the chosen one; the chosen one long ago left the area; Dave Morey retired; "10 at 10" disappeared --so the fact some soulless Cloud Company is attempting a reincarnation is both worthless and clueless.

I've been bombarded with e-mail asking about the changes; the "new" station, the latest morning mercenary, et al.

I have no interest --I know there's a great deal of you that still care. Too bad the Clouds don't. They have lost credibility in this town. So some new guy who nobody has ever heard of doesn't cut it for me. The entire station for that matter. That's why I used a generic image of 104.5 because the old KFOG was destroyed long ago. The fogheads have moved to other things in life. FM radio isn't a destination anymore. Maybe 91.1 for their great jazz and blues.

As Don Pardo would have said: "Bye Bye"

The Dopey Dopes Who Cover the Other Dopey Dopes on 4-20 Day; KGO's 'Donnie and Marie' Told to Tone It Down; Wednesday Opener

Ah, the predictability of the Dopey Dopes in this town who will travel out to Golden Gate Park to cover the other Dopey Dopes --hey, it must be 4-20 day; a time when the stoners invade the park to "get high", "party" and, my favorite, get to "know one another." How terrific. With adulation and glee too, aided and abetted by the morons that rep the Bay Area media. What gullible sycophants!

Look, don't get me wrong, I'm no prude; you want to go smoke, go crazy, some until you're stoned eternity and eat all the hemp popcorn and candy bars your ass can carry but don't screw with my space, stoner!

Moreover, why the hell is anyone covering this crap? Is there a law that states that all the TV/Radio mutants have to schlep their trucks to GG Park and do endless live shots? Why? Because everyone else does it. What a complete waste of time. What a more apt reason why the American Public has no faith in the media and why the media has a more unfavorable rating that ISIS.

It is legitimate news; 420. But it's old news; today, yesterday, and tomorrow. It jumped the shark years ago but assignment editors; the lazy assignment editors who couldn't think up a creative thought if their life depended on it, are clueless. They just march lock and step with the other guys. It's like, "well, if everyone else is live at the scene, uh, I guess, we'll send a truck over too." What a genius, what a professional. Dummy.

Just this (Wednesday) morning I heard KCBSHolly Quan on scene at the park interviewing an early stoner as to why he was there.  Why indeed. The stoner blurted out some incoherent response --it was your typical yahoo verbal assault and it was so spectacularly ironic. I was waiting for the fool to ask Quan herself, "well, why are you here?" Exactly.

The inevitable bozos will tell me I'm behind the times as if I have the gall to question the over-hyped coverage of these losers who DESTROY the park; cause miserable traffic through the neighborhood and create health hazards; leave garbage all over the place and place police, fire, and paramedics in severe, unnecessary high stress. God forbid, your loved one needs an ambulance in the Panhandle today; good luck with that, yet the gullible SF Media will be there, in full force, the predictable Glee Society on duty. Breathless wonders. Future job seekers in Pueblo, Colorado. Stone on, morons.

*MEDIA NOTES WEDNESDAY: I'm told 'Donnie and Marie" were asked by KGO-TV management to "tone it down a bit"; yeah, sure, that'll happen when the stoners throw out the dope and begin drinking coffee...Congratulations, KGO, you've managed to piss off almost the entire staff with a morning show gimmick that has worse ratings than its predecessor --all in the name of trying to seize a demo that doesn't WATCH your program nor your silly, incoherent, unprofessional dorks --again, WHAT AN EMBARRASSMENT!

Who's Got a Hungry Heart? Tuesday PM 415 Media Video Finale

{THE BOSS}

*THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING 415 MEDIA

Bay Area Media Posers Still Heavy-Duty on the BS Meter; I Won't Back Down; Sorry to Ruin Your Day; Thumbs Down from 415 Media

YES, I'M ONE CYNICAL SOB; Contrarians? Tell me why I should be optimistic.

It's easy to be cynical here because I've never witnessed a time when our so-called media "professionals" and their criminal, misbegotten big suits were so much full of crap and evil.

The smiling fakes; you self-centered, ego-inflated POSERS; be advised you're lucky to have a gig; frauds that you are; pirate talkers, loose lips sink ships.

All of you would be divine in Ell-Lay, the Walmart of Posers, headquarters of rank amateur central.

Let me be abundantly clear: THIS site, as long as I'm here, will never sugarcoat --I'll tell it like it is ...and the way things look and sound, would you believe me if I said anything to the contrary? Seriously now, what a time we live in here; the whole land of tolerance my ass; what a pathetic bunch of groupies --hey, KTVU? I feel for you, the rank and file; the people, the photographers, for instance, behind the scenes, abused and working in fear and intimidation by a bunch of assholes at FOX.

Too bad you have no leaders at the top of the list; they're too busy playing out sanctimony on Facebook. As if we are to believe them. Fools, they are. They are really cowards; they hide behind their veneer as if they were modern-day saints. By the way, Frank Somerville? Give me a break, Frank. Quit all the bullshit. I'll call you out because I know sincerity and BS. Why? Because I practiced the art of bullshit and you don't fool me. Right, Frank? Moving forward.

I will let you know ---ALL of YOU, that there is no way I'm going to soften up or back down; not today, nor tomorrow, not as long as I live; You don't IMPRESS me. You never will. Never.

Rejection? Damn straight.

Now go back to your BS chamber.

EXTRA! EXTRA!:

Worse than Paranoia and Fear is the 'Happy Talk' Bullshit at KTVU; They Think You're Stupid; Tuesday Launch

THE Bullshit that they (KTVU) want to foist on you guys (the viewers) is preposterous --I  see it every day.

KTVU (Fox2) used to be real; used to be reliable, even in its present crappy form: Happy Talk, circa 2016 which is bad enough but worse yet, it's all total BS.

The back and forth between anchor and reporter on live shots; on weather and sports anchor; on the suddenly insufferable Jana Katsuyama is nauseating. What a total crock. Are you guys that gullible? KTVU's news managers must think so because, not only do they talk like pirates, they allow, obviously, total frauds to act as if they really know what the hell what they're talking about; not!

Bullshit. (That's right, I said it.)

How are we to take seriously a news operation who has its reporters and anchors take part in fake dialogue? Do they think the Bay Area viewers are that stupid? Obviously so. Maybe the onslaught of pathetic selfies has taken its toll. Maybe the FEAR and Paranoia inside is really, really, really, stark.

I will embellish later.

Yes, I don't mince words and use code vocabulary.

Is this how a serious news station portrays itself?

Fear and Paranoia at KTVU (Fox 2); An Environment of Intimidation and Fear; 'Pins and Needles' in Jack London Square; Star Reporters Leave; Close to Hundred Employees Gone From Graphics, Sales, On-Air Talent; 415 Media Exclusive

IF you've ever dreaded FEAR and PARANOIA it's a good thing you don't work at KTVU --a FOX-owned station where EVERY employee --from the front desk attendant to the news interns and sales staff; reporters, editors, anchors, photographers; work in an environment of intimidation and fear. Or, as a reliable station source puts it, "pins and needles" since these guys arrived (October, 2014)

The source:

"There's no loyalty here; The parking lot is empty; Close to 100 employees gone from graphics, sales; and 'you (415 Media) have been keeping up with all the talent that is gone. Multiple photographers gone! People are scared; mortgages to pay. 'So either you kiss ass or look for other employment. Ass kissing will only buy you a small amount of time. Our newsroom is dark, dreary and just not competitive as we (KTVU) used to be."

And that's just the beginning ...we've talked here about the new talk-heavy (happy talk) frenzy that management has placed forth at Channel 2; it appears that's just a tactic, not an ounce of sincerity --said the source:

"The chit/chat purposely cuts the story count leaving less work for everyone that includes writers, editors, photographers and reporters. It's all part of their (FOX) strategy --there's no news intent, it's all BS."

Indeed, it's not a pretty picture at the station where tension and anxiety rule the day; reporters come and go. Even the most talented and renowned staffers are goners. Bottom-line decisions are commonplace in corporate TV broadcasting but not to the extent that Fox practices, particularly from a heritage station like that of KTVU, pre-October, 2014 when Fox took over from sacred Cox Communications.

A good amount of KTVU staffers, including reporters and some anchors, have always talked to me--both on and off the record; most of those people now don't communicate --even OTR.  Now I know why.

"Computers, phones are constantly looked at. There's a 'witch hunt to find who is talking to you (415 Media) Fox is king at spying. They will do anything to protect their brand."

The source went further and said the toxic environment at KTVU was having a direct affect on news reporting and that the product was beginning to erode.

"The viewers need to know better about this watered-down product. It's NOT NEWS! Gregg Kelly (GM) is a 'bully-- plays nice out front but he's the hammer head for FOX/NY. He's here to do the dirty deed along with Dana Hahn {News Director}

415 Media Exclu: Schedule Changes Coming For KTVU Anchors and Reporters; Huge Focus on 'KTVU Plus'

415 MEDIA SOURCE TELLS ME:

Schedule changes coming for anchors and reporters. Ken Wayne, Heather Holmes and Keba Arnold.

A huge focus on KTVU Plus, Why? It's an extension on 7 pm newscast to an hour with 3 anchors, --who's watching KICU?

Cheaper content in news with rehash. The wrath at Jack London Square: anchors on salary are being worked to the bone and thrown around like one, working over 40+ hours because it's the Fox way.

Best Bay Area TV Newscast: KGO's KOFY 9 PM; Disgruntled KGO Staffers Secret Meetings; Plan 'Manifesto'; Sunday Notes

IF YOU WANT NO-NONSENSE, CRISP, STRAIGHT-FORWARD AND UPFRONT TV NEWS WITHOUT DISTRACTION, THEN YOU WATCH KGO'S 9 PM NEWSCAST on KOFY-TV 20 with Dan Ashley and Ama Daetz.

It's the news the way I like it: a simple, "here's the news" and nothing else--handled in a manner which respects the viewer; provides the basic news presentation without any extra giggles or useless talk--how refreshing in an industry dominated by gimmicks galore. Too bad the KOFY format wasn't universal among all of KGO's news platforms.

*I told you a possible mutiny is in store at 900 Front where KGO-TV's studios are headquartered --a group of senior staffers; some anchors; several producers; news editors; and senior reporters are quite disgusted. They don't plan on going to the News Director nor the President/GM. The issues that have created this major dysfunction --and they are MAJOR--go beyond a meeting with management; fact is, the pissed-off staffers don't even trust the managers; in fact, they seem to feel the ND and GM are part of the problems --at this point, they work on. They meet at a café nearby the station but out of sight and off hours; at this point they're building up a strategy and plan that deals with the issues and are preparing to write down their issues; point by point and get them to some people way above the pay grade. I have been promised a copy of the manifesto and will pub it out as soon as I get it.
