This Is the Guy Replacing Frank Mallicoat on KPIX Morning Show; Kenny Choi

This is Kenny Choi--coming to KPIX from KITV in Hawaii in April as its "Morning Show" anchor --Choi will replace Frank Mallicoat, who couldn't move the needle.

Not sure, based on these type of fluffy beignets, he's going to make waves in the Bay Area, but oh well, he looks like an anchor, right? So perfectly PIXie.

    2. Typical millennial Democrat response 10:53. Thank you for being a cliche. Here's something you'll understand... #YouAreUneducated

    3. @10:53 are you a racialist?

    4. Would you be saying the same if it were an Asian female? No one cares that you're 'Sorry'...No one cares about your opinion really...

Based on the results of the Nevada GOP caucus, you and your ilk undoubtedly received lots of tweets with this very hashtag.

...except you, spending some time on a response.

    7. Since some of the obvious Asian posters here want to make this about race I will state the truth. Chinese are some of the most racist people I know. They don't like whites, they don't like Koreans, they don't like Japanese, on and on. And the same goes for the other Asian nationalities. Koreans don't like the Chinese, the Japanese, Whites, they think they're the smartest race on the planet. Japense don't like Chinese. The only thing they all have in common is they all look down at the Vietnamese as being trash.

  2. What a mistake to get rid of Frank Mallicoat. Do they really think bringing in someone new will change viewership? Frank is likeable. It's his coanchor who lacks energy and personality. The entire show needs a tuneup.

  3. Kenny has a great voice. That's the most important trait for a morning anchor. And he rides his bike to work. A good NorCal attribute. He will do fine.

  4. I hope he does OK if he tries to ride his bike in the middle of the night in SF; someone will rob or attack him with the deterioration of the city. If you miss the stories the Chron covers up or just does not report check out hoodline com for the real news (I think the Examiner and Chron both get their feeds from them).

  5. Can't let the morning go by without mentioning Robin Winston, she had that "million dollar" look this morning. She easily qualifies to become a member of the, "Bay Area Hot Newsbabes" club. We need a "Bay Area Hot Newsbabes" calendar. I'd by one. Maybe next year!

    1. Since I don't know how to spell "by," I would like to change that word to "purchase." That's my, "I are stupid" for the day!

  6. An anchor with the name of "Kenny"? Shouldn't a grown-up use a name like "Ken"? Would Frank Mallicoat seem younger if we called him "Frankie" ?

    2. It's the americanized name.

  7. I thought both Frank Mallicoat and Michelle Griego were good together in the mornings. I don't think hiring an outside anchor is really going to positively change people's viewing habits towards KPIX's weekday morning broadcast.

First before they do anything, they should unload Roberta Gonzales. When she comes on, I can't find the remote fast enough. She's a "Buzz Kill."

  8. The new Asian anchor is a looker. What's wrong with that? And we are in San Francisco, right?
I found Frank to be only okay, rather passive.

  9. Is Frank looking to displace Sam Brock at KNTV???

  10. Hmm... I don't even watch any local morning news, but if the new KPIX anchor is a hot young Asian guy, then I'm in!

  11. Leave Roberta alone. She is a true pro. If you let her go your ratings will drop like a hot potato.
She is the best one at that station. Brings life to a dull place. Also Julie Watts is a keeper.
