Joe Montana is Getting Paid for KPIX/CBS Super Bowl TV Work

Jennifer and Joe Montana have been on KPIX (CBS5) providing some Super Bowl content and looking like, well, Joe and Jennifer. Home-grown talent, MVP yesteryear is expensive though and 49ers Joe is no exception.

I've heard through my PIX/CBS eye that 415 Joe is getting a cool MILLION bucks for his work for the week.

That's enough money for lunch at Zuni with Les Moonves.

  1. "J Mo" was really rusty during PIX's Super Bowl special, to the point where it was hard to watch. Her nervousness, continuity problems, malaprops, and expressions reminded me of Harry Caray. If they have her on again, I hope she is able to settle down. The whole thing was so bad that Liz Cook's segment was smoothest of the show!

    1. Well someone has to pay for the food housing and medical care for all of these Democratic voters.

  4. Seriously? $1M for "in depth" reporting? Of superficial fluff? I suppose that's going to pay for their condo in downtown SF, eh? SMH

    1. He's being paid $1M so that KPIX can beat their chest and say, "Look who we got!!!"

  5. Free market. He can make whatever PIX/CBS is willing to pay him. Let it go.

  8. Well, of course he is. He plays for money.

The sadder thing is how whorish KPIX has become: Ken tonight in his earphones and muffler; Bighips at his side in her shawl.

    I'm gone. (Does anybody care?)

  9. Gee Rich...hard to believe KPIX would pay a three-time Super Bowl MVP when you're available.

    1. Gee Rich...hard to believe you don't see anything negative about St. Joe Montana & Co. on this site. I haven't seen whitewashing like this since the Kennedy assassination.

  10. No surprise, Joe doesn't do ANYTHING for free.

  11. Everywhere in the Bay Area - even in Raider territory out of obvious Hall of Fame respect - Joe Cool can do no wrong, even when he & Jennifer are out of their element handling media work. It may not be the best coverage, but it's passable.

  12. You should ask around Rocklin when the Niners held practice up there. Ask people who worked at the Cattlemen's Restaurant.

  13. I have to agree the over coverage of SB50 is annoying. I cringed when I heard the Santa Clara Mayor saying he wants to bid for another SB after the minimum five year hiatus. Hopefully Ed Lee will be in jail by then and we will be off the hook.

On Joe for me he is a god and it is good to just see him on TV. I won't miss the stupid KPIX SB50 ads at all.

  14. Joe Montana doesn't work for free. Most other people don't either. Better to get paid than beg for donations like some bloggers.

    1. Some of those bloggers provide information, entertainment, and a place for visitors to express their opinions.

  15. I would love to see the local media spend $1 million on investigative reporters who could provide important compelling coverage for years beyond Super Bowl week.
