Hey Comcast: Why Not Hire Remenda for Studio Work? Just a Thought

Here's a radical idea:

Like thousands of you I like Drew Remenda. A lot.

And I know he loves to talk hockey; would it be out of the question if Comcast hired Remenda for studio work?

There's probably little chance of this happening but I thought I'd throw it out anyway.

Why not?

  1. Don't know the man personally, but I would imagine that he would be bored with that type of work. Not technical/fulfilling enough, like coaching or a high-profile analyst position.

  2. Think through what you just wrote. Hedican currently does the studio analysis. No need for 2 hockey analysts. Hedican is the odds on favorite to get the gig. I might even be willing to make a wager on it. Drew is a classy guy but trading spots is down right and would look very bad.

    1. As long as Drews replacement ISN'T Jamie Baker. I'll have to watch Sharks games using the mute button.

  3. How many people watch that station for hockey talk?
Just guessing but most tune in for Giants, 49ers, Raiders and Warriors content. An occasional golf, soccer, A's or hockey story is OK but worth it to Comcast to pay for another studio specialist for one of those? Hell, for $150k I'll talk about Bocce Ball if that is the way they want to go.

  4. If he goes to work for CSNBA, he can work side-by-side with his buddy Ratto!

  7. As a Canadian and hockey fan I will bet that Drew will have a new job faster than you can say "Bad move on the Shark's part!" Drew was one of the best colour men in hockey and called it like it is which is unusual for team hired tonsil. If the Sharks are going to take a step back in hopes of moving forward they probably don't want Drew ripping them next season.

  8. I guess there's no chance that Randy Hahn will resign in protest ... is there ?

  9. Pre and post game shows are garbage. Don't waste my time. And when a sorry outfit says the A's game or Sharks start at 6:30pm, that really means a 7;05 start. Don't insult our intelligence Comcrap.

  10. Slightly off topic, but did you see Scott Reiss anchoring the sports at KPIX? What's going on there? Is Dennis on the way out?
