Those of You That Can't Stand Sports, a Message

Those of you that have an indifference to sports or just can't stand it and prefer a more newsy 415 Media, I've not forgotten you.

We've been busy on the sports beat here in case you didn't already know. We cover it all, sports, news, entertainment, the works.

The Drew Remenda story brought forth a ton of e-mail and interest here at 415 Media. Outrage too, from you the fans. We will continue to follow up and provide you the latest information should new developments occur.

We broke the story--we intend to stay on it to the end.

In the meantime, we will continue to cover the latest in Bay Area TV/Radio and Internet news.

Thanks for keeping here at 415 Media.

  1. I'm one of those you just spoke about. I'm 'not that into sports'. I pay attention sometimes, when it's (as Biden would say) a BFDeal during the Olympics for instance or like now. It's going to be interesting to see is Brazil can pull this off and be ready. One thing I do notice about Sports News coverage, that is similar to Country Music or Jazz. In Sports coverage, there is plenty of room for older men to get on the air and make a name for themselves. All they need is basic sports knowledge, a smooth on-air delivery and enthusiam. I think that's good. I like that sports is slowly opening up to women as well, but these women need the same thing; knowledge, and a smooth, upbeat on air manner. Men on sports shows will listen to women, but they/we expect to be visually stimulated at the same time. So there are likely exceptions, but if a woman is dishing out sports talk in the Man Cave, shes more likely to get invited back if she's hot. If men went on a predominately female show, like The View, they would be evaluated in the same way.

  2. Rich, I haven't seen the Great Veteran KTVU Reporter Rob Roth on the Air for 2 weeks now--is he Simply on Summer Vacation or is he Part of KTVU's Continuing Purge of Expensive Veteran Talent in Favor of Younger Cheaper Reporters? Keep up the Great Work

  3. Rich, Really appreciate your blog spot-light of Veronica De La Cruz.
She's very sharp, extremely articulate, amazing so!
    And Oh, La very exotic.
I'm a woman, yet, I very much appreciate her professionalism.
    Wishing her great success!

  4. 9:27

    Are you busy Saturday night?

  5. I agree with 9:27. De La Cruz is great. I love her voice. She is a breath of fresh air in the polluted Bay Area media scene. I just pray KPIX management doesn't try to dumb her down with bad writing, stupid station promotion, etc.

  6. Great work! You work very hard, hope your readers that!
