  3. These types of posts are becoming so regular and predictable, you need a new label: GBCW (short for Goodbye, Cruel World).

Depending on how indefinite "indefinite" is, we're taking you off hanger steaks and martinis and putting you on sprouts, wheatgrass juice and kombucha tea. Tommy's Joynt: out. Cafe Gratitude: in. I'll even give you a new mantra to help clear your mind: "Ommmmmmmm kuhhhhhh-niiiiiiiib-berrrr."

Whatever the case, hope you come back rejuvenated, thicker skinned and replete with a fresher arsenal of material. When you're on and you have the goods, you're fun to read. When you're not and you don't, oooof.

  7. It's in your blood man....you can't walk away.

I dont know what 97.7 is doing leaving Scott(John Teshalike) Jackson alone 10-1. He's like Tesh whithout Mary Hart-or records to fill the time. He's a good host-but the man needs somebody to play off of..or dullness sets.
And Townsend,Jeff Sheen, and a couple of others there..who'z who???? they sound identical. PTL for Dibb's lisp..at least you know its always gonna be Dibs.
Kate Scott scores!...for liberals. Maybe she can teach the old man- and KNBR- a thing or two before he hangs it up.

  11. So many media industry idiots posting as anonymous with their cutdowns. Pathetic, scared little bitches is all they are. So easy to cutdown people anonymously, so pathetic. At least Rich has the balls to do it as Rich.

  12. Rich- I hope you get a good rest and a chance to do some things that you enjoy. Life is too short to get all worked up over the local media. Still, I understand your frustration and sympathize with much of your vitriol.
We both know all too well that what is happening in our media is merely a reflection of what is happening in our "downsized" world.Big business is running this country into the ground and it's amazing to me that so many working men and women are buying the crap that the Republicans are throwing out there. They are nothing but bought
and sold mouthpieces for big companies who expoloit people, sue our resources up and then complain about government regulation. As far as the media goes, we need more of government regulation!

These big media companies have flushed all responsibility to the community down the drain in their zeal to make a profit. They have no loyalty to anyone or anything except their shareholders and CEOs. When 90 percent of the nation's radio and TV stations are owned by about ten companies, that's not a good thing. Can you say manopoly!? As a result we're getting fewer viewpoints and less information, but Americans are unfortunately asleep at the wheel. Most don't want to read a newspaper or listen to NPR, but would rather watch tabloid sleze on TV, scan over 'edgy' websites that have no boundaries and are beholden to no standards and practices of fairness or objectivity. Many are distracted by tuning out the real world while spending endless hours staring at tiny screens as they facebook, text, or tweet nonsense to their friends, who they can't even take the time to have a conversation with! Between the noise going into their heads on the i-pods, and the hours of squinting at screens, I bet by the middle of the 21st century
we're going to see an epidemic of hearing loss and vision problems. Mark my words. An ophthamologist who is a friend of mine told me that he's almost certain that spending more than 2 hours a day staring at a computer screen causes damage to the eyesight. How much can't be determined for now, but I trust his opinion.
So we have no one to blame but ourselves. I am heartened though to see that miserable excuse for a human being, Rupert Murdoch getting dragged through a scandal that may finally put a well-deserved dent his evil empire. He's done more damage to our industry then anyone else I can think of. It's funny how people bitch and moan about illegal aliens.,..how about this guy...he's from Australia and he has the temerity to tell us here in this country, through his bloviating ! That takes a lot of gall! This hideous purveyor of sleaze is finally reaping what he sowed, and it couldn't
happen to a more deserving clod! I only wish Obama had the balls to repeal the Communications Act of 1996 which essentially destroyed our traditional media by allowing the Clear Channels,
the Cumuluses, and the other 'big box' media companies to swallow up the many radio and TV stations and then throw a lot of good, solid working broadcast journalists onto the street.
    Shame on them!

  14. Oh come on....HELLO? We know you're in there approving the comments.

Where else am I going to rant about that "weathergirl" you love? I can't take Christina L and Laura G anymore. They think they're sorority girls flirting at a bar, and I'm tired of it.

I'm changing my TIVO to record GMA now. Maybe that'll save my morning sanity.
