Clear Channel's KNEW nixes 'John and Ken' show for John Gibson

KNEW, 910 AM, Clear Channel's conservative radio outpost in SF, has axed the dreadfully innocuous ratings disaster known as the "John and Ken" show, and intends to replace it with one-time Sacramento-based, and ex-Fox News shocker and current Fox News radio host,  John Gibson.

Good luck with that.

Matter of fact, here's an early prediction: Gibson, a nice enough guy who knows how to create a ruckus for the sake of ratings, won't last a year. Just like John and Ken were supposed to make everyone forget Michael Savage, remember that guy?

KNEW hasn't recovered since Savage was 86ed out of its afternoon drive position in Sept., 2009, (a money deal) and lately has been trying out every conservative tonsil from Dennis Miller to Bill O'Reilly.

The problem with all this is that the conservative bigwigs like Limbaugh, Hannity, and Levin are all on KSFO, and have the bulk of market share.

And Savage has found a home at sports-talker XTRA Sports, (KTRB) from 3-5 PM, (and repeated in the morning, 6-9 AM)

Seems from this vantage point, Clear Channel is content to just herd through any and all programs as if to adhere to the "throw enough -hit on the wall and eventually something will stick."
