Carla Marinucci, the star political reporter, is leaving the Chronicle and is headed to Politico.Marinucci will write the "California Playbook" --essentially what she's been writing for the Chron, but now, the political media Internet heavyweight, Politico.
Marinucci leaves a void at the SF daily. Her state political reporting has been a mainstay in the Bay Area for over two decades.
This is the second big byline departure for the Chron--crime reporter, Henry Lee, recently left to become same for KTVU.
