Lloyd LaCuesta, a KTVU veteran street reporter and the station's South-Bay bureau chief, has retired. LaCuesta has been at the Oakland Fox aff since 1976 and won numerous industry awards.
He announced his retirement on his Facebook page.
In addition to presiding over leadership of a multitude of Asian journalist organizations, LaCuesta won Emmy Awards, received honors from the Peninsula Press Club, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, and the Associated Press. He also received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Asian American Journalists Association in 2004.
LaCuesta's low-key style and consistency earned him a bevy of plaudits both in the Bay Area and beyond.
LaCuesta will continue to work at KTVU through June, before calling it quits.
