KNBR Legit Voice on Giants Demise, Bill Laskey is Blunt and Honest

  1. When the Giants best performing player is someone who signed a one year contract after LaMonte Wade was DFA'd. You got problems. Dominic Smith has done an incredible job at first and has extended his hitting streak to 15 games! The best performing player on the roster. The rest of the team. Forgetful. Melvin has to walk the plank sooner than later. It's not working. Ramos is a mental midget. This team plays fundamentally retarded and it is embarrassing. I love baseball, but good baseball. This isn't it. I follow passively now, to many other things to do. Good luck in 2026!

    1. The Giants have old heads(Melvin and Williams) steering the ship, and the players have simply quit on them. The play is sloppy and lacks any enthusiasm. You hit the nail on the head with Dom Smith. He needs to be the first baseman for the next few years and Devers should be a full time DH.

  2. Agree, Laskey tells it like it is. The Giants are simply terrible. Melvin has to go, or at the very least, the hitting coach has to go.

  3. The Little League World Series is this weekend so we should see some good baseball the way it's supposed to be played. The Giants should tune in.

  4. Calling Baer "Big Bird" is hilarious.

  5. Maybe Larry Baer could push his wife over in public for some publicity, or a bobble head of him pushing her.

  6. I doubt they get rid of Melvin, but Pat Burrell needs to go. Giants are hitting just above .230 as a team. They'd probably do better with no hitting coach.

  7. Are the Giants so bad that local television coverage has abandoned them? KPIX eleven o’clock news failed to even mention the Giants during the entire Padres series. This seems poor journalism to me as news is news and pretending the Giants don’t exist is a disservice to the viewing public.

    1. I disagree. Mostly a waste of air time so go with what is sports newsworthy. Thus, “service”, not “disservice”. No one cares about losers as our Commander in Chief would say! Well, he is right about that at least.

    2. It was a historically bad series for the Giants. They were outscored 20-3 in 3 games and committed all the errors. It was better to go heavy Valkries instead of talking about a minor league baseball team playing at Oracle.

    3. Nothing against Bob Melvin but yes, the 2025 Giants are bad, long time sufferer since 1960 and if not for Bruce Bochy we would still be suffering

  8. Count Alex Pavlovic as another one who didn't hold back on SFGate today. Calling their play "unacceptable" was spot on.

  9. Since the Devers trade the Giants have the worst record in MLB and the least amount of runs scored. Good job Buster.

    1. I still consider this a great trade. Devers wasn't healthy and probably won't be until next year. He's average to below average as a defender, so they should DH him all the time. They need to shake things up before next season - definitely a new hitting coach, but maybe BoMel needs to go too.

  10. To have this team, with at least above-average talent, lose 14 of last 15 HOME GAMES (as of tonight & worst stretch since 1901!!), something is so very wrong. Albeit being in high school, I was on our football team and went 0-10 one year. Hate to say it but we went 0-10 because we did quit on the coach, and this looks to be the case here.
