I have to tell you it’s quite disappointing seeing Paul wearing jeans twice a week on air. This is what can be contradictory happened a few times.
Paul is on the CBS Evening News sometimes and wears a full suit and tie. Hours later on local he switches to jeans (like on Friday or a holiday). It is distracting.
Now I have respect because Paul’s forecasts are accurate but apart from the jeans, no spark no connection.
I lived in Minneapolis for work where Paul was born and raised from 2019-2020 and there were plenty of folks I met who were even as funny but direct even with that accent. Many remind me of Zoe
Paul on the other hand reminds me of an old coworker; wooden doesn’t have a sense of humor when you joke or laugh when others do.
Kyla can help as a 5th meteorologist or potentially replace Paul if Paul leaves. She can also be an anchor and KPIX needs to bring coanchoring back to all weekday PM slots & get rid of their 8 and 9pm news and move Devin.
Wait and see. Kyla can also coanchor and help with weather. When I meant get rid of the 8 and 9pm, I’m talking the structure, format where 2 hours of repetition. Devin would be better elevated to earlier newscasts as a coanchor & 11pm which I’ve seen him do well.

I remember Paul was hired during Covid, so he probably still has that remote work mindset. The strange thing is that there's no pattern to his jeans and sneakers. You could get away with it on Fridays, but he does it in the middle of the week sometimes and it's just incredibly out of place.
Heggen is spot on & accurate, but he can also be data heavy. Sometimes he gives you the good news on relief but also can turn it into a catch where it drains down any hopes. The lack of spark and connection is evident everywhere.
He should consult Mr Fashion Dick wear a Kpix 2 sizes small and a hoodie or borrow Liebermans Andre Senor Collection Sears Suit also 2 sizes small and gold chains worn by dicks used car attire.

He is also marking 6 years at KPIX in January.
Maybe KPIX could hire Kyla Grogan instead? Nothing against Heggen & I really don't care what he wears, but I do miss her. Where's she going to end up?
