It's the weekend with schools out for the summer. Tonight will be crazy. If the protests go into the morning and begin to block commute traffic, there could be some extreme violence.
It's been a protest the past two days, but when the National Guard is brought in, people will use that as a reason to turn the protest into a riot. Hope everyone stays safe.
Looks like an Insurrection to me? FAFO. The Insurrection Act of 1807 is a U.S. federal law that allows the president to deploy military forces domestically to suppress insurrections, civil disorder, or armed rebellion against the government. It provides a legal framework for the federal government to intervene in state matters when local authorities are unable or unwilling to maintain order. USNORTHCOM is adding compliments as of this writing. Going kinetic is no longer an "if" but "when".
Dem politicians in Washington DC is spewing that narratives, tells me they want the unrest to make trump look bad, they think most Americans are stupid
The Kobe mural has just been covered with graffiti. Seriously doubt these are protesters/rioters. They seem more like opportunists trying to cause havoc.
That’s sad. Kobe Bryant was an icon for the LA community. He was a great basketball player, but also a good man who contributed to his community, was a good father, and accountable for his victories and his mistakes.
Rich: Related to protests but a bit off topic: Watching KTVU 10PM Sunday night about "some" white older people protesting to support Palestinians, hello? hello? who started Oct 7th???? Over Thousand Jewish people killed and kidnap???? Who voted Hamas into power??? Now you know where "stupid" rich white kids in fancy universities supporting Hamas are spawned from
Protestors and looters are the uneducated ones using freedom of speech as an excuse to express their violence towards the innocent like law enforcers, store owners, public property. Honestly, they are so uneducated protecting the illegals getting deported when "they" themselves are the ones breaking the law protecting someone breaking the law when they are breaking the law. Time to kick them all out, violence and never taught.
Those people have no cause, and only want to create havoc. Others are just opportunists, like the good folks ransacking the downtown businesses last night.
Peaceful protesters are fine. I think professional anarchists insert themselves into protest situations just to cause chaos, and then politicians escalate and expand things to feed their base supporters. It's all pretty sad and avoidable. And yes, we are all immigrants and everyone has grievances.

ReplyDeleteCould someone please explain the logic to me: Waving Mexican flags but refuses to go back; burning American flags but want to stay....
