  2. Rich, Just curious, how much $ did Lamont get coming back to the bone 107.7 ??

  3. Alan Rossi-San Anselmo. So many more commercials on radio talk show Armstrong and Getty. Even when they come back live, they'll do a commercial. They always seem to agree with one-another. What is your opinion of these two?

    1. It's an assault, a total rip-off. In the old days they had an FCC which limited ad clusters. Today? They go unregulated which means they can run as many spots as they want. Only the listeners can tell them "Screw you" and they have.

  4. Who will replace howdy doody on KTVU when he retires? Promote from within or outside hire?
    IMHO:
-Elvira is too old and unfortunate 🤡
--Diva 'unfriendly' Rosemary is too 'lightweight and casual' and doesn't come across as serious meteorologist. Her outfits seem like she woke up one day and thought 'instead of wine tasting or shopping I'll report the weather.' Messing with her face too much 🤡
-Mark Tamayo is good but looks like he still gets carded at bars 😘 and ill fitting suits!

    1. KTVU is hopeless which is why Howdy Dowdy and Elvire have jobs, the station is a total waste of time and money.

    2. Bring back Kyla Grogan! She belongs at KTVU.

Please expose the KCBS -Soros doxing of the ICE agents in the bay area. this is a huge story.

    1. It is, I agree and I've said as much.

    2. There was no doxing, that's right-wing propaganda.

  6. Hi Rich,

Are there any radio stations in the USA that still have a talk show like the old KGO 810 AM?

    Rainy in the East Bay

    1. There's a few. The old KGO? That ship has sailed.

Try WABC in NY, KFI LA and WIP in Philly.

    2. i-heart needs to switch one of their formats in SF to a KFI type format - it's definitely not KGO but it's good talk radio - the morning dj's are from the bay so there are days it's like a sf station

    1. No, not at all, but I do like some of his (Trump) policies and as you get older, you get more conservative.

  8. Hi Rich, will the "real" story of Jeff Adachi see the light of day, or will this remain a big cover-up?-Allan. Marin

  9. Alan, there's no cover-up just a lot of hidden truths which one day will get published.

Why don't you interview a female journalist on your blog?

  11. Thanks, I'll check them out.

  12. Hey Rich
    Brian from Fairfield
I will not let this go without a local report. If you don't do it who will? KCBS is in big trouble with the FCC. Could lose their liscence over this.

  13. Rich, have you ever been able to sit through an entire episode of ktvu's Like it or Not, the show where buffoonish egomaniacs give their rambling opinions about meaningless minutiae?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You had to bring that up, uh, yes, I've seen it. It's bad,,.

  14. Uh, curious what "big trouble" KCBS is in ?? Please educate us...

  15. Hi Richie. What’s the latest on Gary R? Keep up the good work.

  16. Rich: Any backstory on the departure of KRON reporter Michael Thomas? His posting announcing the departure didn't seem like it was his choice/mutual. Always thought his appearance, dress and voice was more of a distraction to his reporting skills.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. He was made a scape goat all I know.

    2. Regarding Michael Thomas, and referring to Anonymous@12:12pm, I noticed you were using the pronoun "his". I have long wondered about Michael/Michelle Thomas, as to what he/she really was/is? At times I think Thomas is a girl who is transing into a man, and other times, I think Thomas is a man transing into a woman. So Rich, can you shed light on this, just out of curiosity?

  17. Not sure if this comment "made it through" - responding to the KCBS comment: What "big trouble" are they in with the FCC??

    1. It involves their new owner TSoros and its complicated.

  18. Hi Rich, Kevin from Castro Valley... How much longer is KNBR going to "hang on"? Did you see that at the Sacramento Fan Fest your buddy Kopey Copes was hosting around 200 Giants fans at the A's home ball park. But they are sharing the stadium with the Grizzlies, the Giants AAA team. Irony! Copes needs to be GONE!

    ReplyDelete

    1. They have NO money Kevin, I'm dead serious so I guess they're on borrowed time--with Giants bb looking I guess they'l' find another slush fund to stay alive I guess.

  19. What happened to Lee Solomon on ksbw?

  20. Rich, is KPIX ever going to get a real news set again? The VR set they've been using for non-weather stuff is terrible. The lighting is bad and the anchors look just as bad. Plus everyone looks tiny. Keep it for weather but move the anchors back to a real set with decent lighting...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Their "virtual" news set is here to stay, weather and sports in addition to news. I liked their idea at first, but the honeymoon is Over.

  21. Rich, Ryan Yamamoto has been a big Failure at PIX. His wife at KGO is much better then he is. Will PIX really renew his contract just to do noon and 3pm the Ming Sze hours?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Hi Rich: A few days back You talked about the possibility of KRON offering Buyouts to their 2 best Female Anchors=Vicki Liviankis & Catherine Heenan. If that happens is Feckless KRON actually going to pair Doofus Justine Waldman along with her husband the Uninspiring Grant Lodes to both anchor their 5 & 6 pm Newscasts. That as You Would Say is a "Total Abomination!" Tell me Rich: This is Not Going to Happen, Right? Regards, Cary SF

  24. Did Elaine Corral ever get along with Dennis? I did not see her expressing anything, KTVU did not interview her make me wonder was there a feud between Dennis or the station. I know the station did not interview Frank and I don’t have to say why.

    1. Dennis didn't get along with a lot of people. Elaine was in the mix.

  25. For those of you who are dying to hear some reporting of the KCBS fiasco--

NewsBreak 2-5-25 — The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is opening an investigation into Audacy San Francisco all-news radio station KCBS after a host revealed details of where ICE agents were operating in the area in late January.

During the weekend news, an anchor revealed that ICE agents were conducting operations in eastern portions of the Bay Area, which included details of the make, model, and colors of the unmarked vehicles being used in the operation.

Communications Daily 2/6/25 — The FCC is investigating Audacy’s KCBS San Francisco over the station’s broadcasting of locations and identifying details of vehicles involved in an undercover Immigration and Customs Enforcement operation in January, according to a Fox News report that quotes FCC Chairman Brendan Carr.

NY POST 2/6/25– Federal Communication Commission (FCC) chairman Brendan Carr said it’s “really concerning” that a radio station backed by left-wing billionaire George Soros broadcast live locations of undercover Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

    1. Good. Throw the book at them. "They" have gotten away with their tactics for far too long. The reason the two cities of name in the Bay Area have turned to shit is because of "their" leadership.

  26. Rich, you did some excellent segments and interviews with Frank Somerville. Do you have any updates on his situation?

  28. Hey Rich, Have u seen the new-ish reporter Ch. 2 has. Tory Ganes. She is ghastly. Routinely errs in her reporting and her presentation is amateurish. What gives?

    ReplyDelete
  29. I have no questions and if I did I would not ask them of you, because you're only an authority on the ramblings in your own head. The Bay Area needs a *good* source of media info, comings and goings, and this putrid kvetch fest isn't it.
