BFD: 43 years of steady employment asking athletes if “the groin pull will slow em down?” Celebrated? For what? For doing his job? One more contract to shore up the cabin fund.!?! Thankfully the guy wasn’t denying medical insurance claims so he could get a bigger bonus. FOX News, where truth goes to die. All these folks would lick Rupert’s nuts if it meant another 2 year contract. That’s embarrassing.
Oh I know him. He was a dick in a suit. He thought he was the most important person in the room. You're not the most important person in the room when an iPhone can replace what you do.
Not sure about that. Gary Radnich sounded like he was “calling it in” for many years on tv and radio. In his later professional years seldom went to any professional sports games per what I read in this blog. He disguised it well; quite the showman. I guess his side kick and heir apparent at KRON Vern Glenn at the time had that role so he could get away with that. Hmm, kind of like Tolbert was too seemingly calling it in also on KNBR now that I think about it but he did broadcast some basketball games onsite.
You may not believe this, but people in radio and television who were on air Watch recordings of your podcast incessantly. People I know have worked on air with th over the years often times ask me “did you see what Lieberman said the other day?“ Be aware of the fact, Rich, that you are being watched not only by a lot of people in the public, but by the media folks too. That’s because the only other guy who has done any kind of media criticism has Ben Fong-Torres, and his comments are always very vanilla and inoffensive. . I love the fact that you shoot from the hip and that you, Rip the dweebs at Cunulus, regularly, as well as their corporate tools such as Lee Hammer, who finally got fired himself after doing their dirty work here in the Bay Area for years. Speaking of a boring,, you are far too easy on Ibanez. His boring, milquetoast , toast, approach to sports with the smarmy little smiles, and the “that’s the sporting life” sign off phrase was weak and bland.
Like Jennifer Lopez, Mark & Julie & Frank, need that mention as oft as possible. Thankfully a news event occurs and they are relegated to the dustbin of time. I mean, haven’t we heard enough from any and all of the aforementioned? I know I have.
@8:32. I've run into him a few times at the OSH store in Napa, he's always been friendly and cordial. Talked sports with him while I was helping him get what he was looking for

Once in a blue moon, I’ll see him at the Napa Safeway. Tried saying hi to him; he told me to F off.

ReplyDeleteNapolean Complex. They all suffer from it. Never met a hydrant that didn't.
ReplyDeleteSerious little man’s complex, Vienna sausage type. Julie hopefully avoided that inadequate “stuff”, no way could it get the job done
DeleteNice guy, but also the laziest person who ever worked in Bay Area sports media.

DeleteI meant “mailing it in” or whatever the expression is.
