Dr Don Rose and Ronn Owens

GREAT BAY AREA Radio personalities...

Dr Don Rose: still regard him as the greatest SF Radio host. Personality, humor, creativity, all of the above. Mornings on KFRC in the 70's --"San RaQUEL!"

*Dear Ronn Owens: Hope you're feeling OK. Miss you on the old KGO.

Yes, I became quite agitated at your career end but have never denied your overall excellence.

Be well and prosper.

  3. Certainly from another era…their likes shall never be heard again. Radio sold records - records made radio.
    Don Sherwood
    Al Jazzbeaux Collins
    Dr Don
    Frank n Mike

Entertainers with wit and style and intelligence and a damned good memory for mixing music.
Now all we have are Crock jocks.

  5. My father always said Don Sherwood was the greatest DJ he ever heard. I personally couldn't stand Dr. Don. Jazzbeaux was IT for me, the greatest DJ who ever sat behind a mic. I could listen to him for hours, and I did — hours.

  6. Never was a fan Don Rose he was over the top in my opinion. The best part of Ronn was the Ronn and Brian joke hour before it was a crime not to be woke.

  7. Agree Don Rose was irritating as #$%@ and way overrated. The station was better when he was off air.

  8. Mid-70's, I listened to Ronn Owen's program from 1000 miles away. KGO's nighttime skip signal carried that distance easily.
