Monday Mandatory Coffee; Glen Kuiper Selling Blackhawk Home; KPIX Folks Resigned to Borba Goner; Darya Folsom Pissed at KRONvicts; KTVU: Hell on Earth; Vacar Does Sports Report; Ashley Contract Still MIA at Circle7; Mighty Fine Tamron Hall Lights Up AFTRA Gala
MONDAY MANDATORY COFFEE...
Looks like Glen Kuiper is selling his Danville home in Blackhawk. If you have a spare $2.3 MILL, it's yours. Here's the house.
*People inside KPIX are now resigned to the fact, Andria Borba, the star reporter who's been gone for nearly a year, won't be coming back. If anything, my sources at PIX tell me, the lawyers for CBS have begun negotiating a settlement. Borba took a LOA last November complaining of severe burnout and just plain exhaustion.
*CIRCLING THE WAGON: KRON morning diva Darya Folsom is quietly telling friends she's angry at various news people; she's skeptical and pissed at some whom she feeels has betrayed her. Darya to staff:" you're no good." We feel your pain, Countess.
*Somebody asked me what I envision as "hell?" Without a beat, I said, "KTVU." I was half-joking but then it occured to me a good majority of people who work there now can't wait to LEAVE and are either sending out resumes or counting the days until retirement.
*ADD KTVU embarrassment: they're so pathetic now, they used Tom Vacar to do a Warriors draft story. Vacar?!! What's next? Julie Haener commentary on crionics? Excuse me while I pass out.
*NO, Dan Ashley hasn't signed a new deal at Circle7. The KGO-TV/ABC7 veteran anchor and Disney appear to be involved in a cat-and-mouse game waiting for whoever blinks first.
Ashley makes around $600K a year--that's his old deal and he seems OK with essentially anchoring on an at-will basis. He has NO current deal and Disney isn't moving in to make a contract extension take place.
Which has only strengthened rumors that Ashley might be exiting or simply resigned to working under present conditions. He may have no choice.
The Mouse House takes no prisioners.
*Tamron Hall was at the AFTRA gala the other night and LIT UP an otherwise drab evening affair--my goodness, Tammy, you look mavelous!
Glen is toast! Lesson learned you don't drop the N-word. It's a career killer! Probably needs to sell his home to compensate for not being able to find a job in broadcasting.
@2:16 they had to cancel a local soccer match recently here in the Bay because they were chanting anti-homosexual words. You uneducated folks think we're a wonderful melting pot here in the Bay Area when in reality the coming majority are far more conservative and very anti-gay and people of a certain color that Kuiper got in trouble for.
@4:15pm - When was this? I know the USA vs Mexico match in Las Vegas was canceled but I don't see anything about here in the Bay Area. Please site your source.
@4:15, suspension of the LAS VEGAS soccer match and the firing of Glen Kuiper means certain folks have less tolerance for such behavior than those in the areas 2:16 referred to. The point was obvious.
Why should a burned-out or other reporter get a buyout when they can't hack the pressure? Lawyers, teachers, police, sales, MUNI drivers all have stressful jobs.
Unless there was bonafide harrassment. Is their logic it "looks bad"? Has she been in workers comp or is the station paying for her extensive break?
Why would Borba be getting a payout? She was the one saying she was burnt out, and it seems they kept paying her since she’s still on the KPIX/CBS website and considered an employee. Maybe there is something deeper going on here, but both sides have clearly moved on.
Rich: Absolutely love your blogs; I used to wait for Mr. Caen's beloved articles in the old Chron; now we wait for your blogs, entertaining and most comments usually comes to fruition, thousand Thanks
Tis a little known fact: Vacar is 6’10”, has a mean Sky-Hook, and has bedded over 10,000 women. He was a sensation in the old SF Summer Leagues, and turned down lucrative offers from the Bulls, Lakers, and Pistons. He turned his attention to modeling in Milan, where he was the toast of the town. Molto simpatico Tom
Giants need to get Glenn asap! Keep him in the bay.

Delete@10:29 AM "Keep him in the bay."
DeleteNah.
He likely prefers Alabama or Mississippi.

Delete@ 4:15. Yep. Soon as we get rid of you sick groomers and the POS Governor, we will reclaim our state. Even the fat broke Jew knows this?

DeleteThe majority is coming. And we're far more conservative, religious and right leaning. California will flip. Viva Mexico!
DeleteAndria Borba, "the star reporter" WTF? She was mediocre at best!
ReplyDeleteYup.
DeleteWhy should a burned-out or other reporter get a buyout when they can't hack the pressure? Lawyers, teachers, police, sales, MUNI drivers all have stressful jobs.
ReplyDeleteUnless there was bonafide harrassment. Is their logic it "looks bad"? Has she been in workers comp or is the station paying for her extensive break?
Because chronic fatigue syndrome, for example, is a real condition.
DeleteThen why a buyout? She can get a part-time job or drive for Uber.
DeleteRich, why is Bill Martin still broadcasting from home on Sunday?
ReplyDeleteCause he can and it keeps everyone safer if he is not driving.
DeleteI thought Chief meteorologists don’t work weekends. Definitely not Paul Heggen or Jeff Ranieri.
DeleteI saw Vacar doing that, I was like WTF?
ReplyDeleteWhy would Borba be getting a payout? She was the one saying she was burnt out, and it seems they kept paying her since she’s still on the KPIX/CBS website and considered an employee. Maybe there is something deeper going on here, but both sides have clearly moved on.
ReplyDeleteBeware if Darya's shoulders and biceps. She has been hitting the gym hard

ReplyDelete3 days on the high-profile/high-traffic real estate site that I checked, and Glen's house is already in "pending" status. That was quick!
ReplyDeleteDid Tamron Hall visit KRON or KTVU to check out an anchoring position??
ReplyDeletePam
San Francisco
That would be a great get for KRON
DeleteThought he lived next to his brother
ReplyDeleteThe house has already sold. Above asking price btw.
ReplyDeleteGo away Darya.
