KTVU Newbie Bailey O'Carroll is Fox En Fuego

OK, so she's not a young Diane Sawyer, and how many of those are around today?

KTVU is owned by Fox and Fox needed to move it's Bay Area O and O's needle, hello Bailey O'Carroll!

She's riveting journalism and a breath of fresh air.

I'm sure that's her real name too.

As for hard-hitting news reports, check out this one-on-one with noted journalist, Sal Castaneda. Watch Sal as he does his best Bob Woodward.

    3. Bailey O’Bozo???

Only a bitter, jealous AND petty broomhilda would refer to her using such a stupid name. The prime suspects have to include the gruesome twosome of Mon2 infamy.

    1. Amber is completely unqualified. So is is the general manager. So is the assignment editor Kellee Roman. And so is the assistant news director Simone aponte. They are all angry woman who have no clue what they are doing. And if they were guys I would say the same think. Ktvu used to be a leader. Now they're just followers. Summerville was the last real newsman there. We can debate whether he should have been fired because he questioned the gabby petito coverage. He stood up for what was right. And he lost his job as a result. The only other people in have ANY credibility are Heather Holmes. Jana katsutama. And Tom vacar. They actually care. They got into the business for all the right reasons. One last thing. I'll tell you a great story about Simone aponte. During the pandemic when she was suppposed to be working. She actually wasn't. She started a cookie delivery business. When producers desperately need to talk to her she was too busy baking cookies. And wait for it. Amber and literally did nothing. That's how screwed up ktvu is.

    2. I also have tons of more behind the scenes stories to tell. But only if people are truly interested in listening. I know all the secrets at ktvu. And I'd like more than anything to expose these people. Because what they're doing is disgraceful. There is literally no other word for it.

    6. 11:01/11:15am, thank you for exposing the truth about these utterly unqualified, vindictive immature nincompoops.
I’m also a KTVU employee who has been here long enough to see the shocking and dramatic decline of a once-great legacy.
The shift from Cox to Fox and the bizarre appointment of Countess Eikel to run the news operation were the two main turning points, IMHO. The Frank situation was another seismic shift that seemed to further add to the destabilization and demoralization. The slashed budgets and salary cuts were all bad: Good talent left and those who remained were bitter, demoralized and had yet another reason to phone it in (as if working for the most unqualified ND in news history wasn’t bad enough).
The piling on of additional newscasts to the schedule exacerbated all of the above and put on public display just how hollow and pathetic the ‘news’ coverage is.
But speaking of good people who are in it for the right reasons, I’d like to add a couple more names to the list: Brooks Jarosz and Alex Savidge.

    7. So here's another story about Simone. During the Elizabeth Holmes trial. The biggest local story of the year we promised viewers every night that our reporter Evan sernofski would be in court EVERY day covering. At that point Simone was in charge of the investigative. And she decided to give the whole team the day off and take them fishing. So on a crucial day when there was a key witness we had no one in court because even was out fishing. And again amber knew all about it and did nothing except promote Simone. You literally can't make this stuff up. Again it why I will never associate myself with ktvu.

  5. Rich: I agree with you on Bailey, breath of fresh air, why so many negative comments on her here and in your previous articles? Oh, I see, jealousy, clear as day

  6. Better then Emma Goss but then again KTVU keeps lowering the bar.

  7. The young lady is a breath of fresh air, especially contrasted with a stale Sal.

  8. Bailey reminds me of Jessica Burch, only cuter, seemingly more authentic, and not full of herself.

    1. But Jessica burch has a brain

    2. When is she on? I’d like to see her.

Burch is great imo, Peck is the one who is full of himself - not pleasant to see him fill in for Burch. He should stay on the weekend permanently and not sniff Mon-fri (not even noon & 3pm)

    3. @ 8:04 You remind me of the strawman in Wiz of OZ

  9. Was that before or after Sal propositioned Bailey and insisted they grab midday, midweek cocktails?

    1. Not sure about the cocktails but I’m guessing this Blue Angels flying adventure is when/why Sal started saying that Bailey has ‘buns of steel.’

    2. Calm down Mr. Hornypants. Grown adults can be friends without there being anything more to it. Having a drink with a friend is normal adult behavior.

  10. saw quite a few
negative comments about Bailey on your other post and tbh I don’t understand all the hate.
I see her on Mornings on 2 during the week and yeah she’s young but she also has a very positive energy about her. You can feel her enthusiasm and her excitement to do her job and you can tell that she’s trying hard to do well. Sure, she has a lot to learn but she’s new to this, give her a break.
Quite frankly, I’d much rather see someone like Bailey than most of her counterparts who have zero enthusiasm and who have been phoning it in for years, collecting a paycheck with no pride in their work.

  12. Give Bailey a chance before criticizing her. All reporters start as newbies somewhere. The traditional ladder for reporters was small, medium and large markets. Start in Chico or Medford then move to Fresno or Reno and hopefully San Francisco or Los Angeles on the West Coast. I suspect 90% of the reporters or anchors never get hired in a major market. Now, it appears that reporters can jump from a small to a large market.

    1. Why all the Bailey hate? Is it because of her age….because she’s just starting off her career….because she’s energetic and vibrant…because she’s had the audacity to mispronunce some words? Or is it something else?
I’ve seen her several times already and have seen nothing off-putting about her appearance or reports.
And no, I’m not Bailey and I’m not a troll, I’m just trying to understand the apparent dislike for her.

    2. Exactly quit the hating she ain’t good but she trying

      Delete
    3. Hey rich you want to clarify to these people if you’re being sarcastic or giving a compliment in your post? Because you spend a lot of time bashing this market for bringing in inexperienced journalists and this seems like a great example of it.

    4. Troll? That sounds like a word a 22 year old would use..oh wait hi Bailey!

    5. She gave a platform to anti lgbtq bigots during a pride flag raising ceremony Saturday. They were “pro American flag”. Riiiiight.

    6. Sounds like Bailey is doing her best Jessica Burch impression: leaving anonymous favorable comments about herself on this blog.

      Delete
    7. 12:49, Bailey is nowhere remotely close to Jessica’s level of insecurity. Remember, Jessica Burch is the one bought over 120k Instagram followers before Rich exposed what she was doing, at which point her Instagram completely stopped growing and she had to create a new account.

  13. When she's done reporting, does she have to go back home and do her homework?

Rich, what type of audience are you catering to? I’m ok with an occasional laugh but this juveline attempt at humor is beneath you.

  16. "Bailey O'Carroll" sounds like a name for someone who worked at the Condor Club in the 1960s, like Herb Caen's ideas for dancers like "Strip O'Mycin" or "Penny Cillin."

  17. Bailey literally looks like she is like 12 years old

  18. ah goodness, a threatening gorgeous Blondie comes aboard and all those attacks, unheard off, yes, she is gorgeous with a brain and a voice but so much jealousy.. no, this is not Bailey but I know all those attacking her is female reporters and anchors , jealousy is a sin you know

  19. If Bailey is starting out, give her a chance. Honing her skills, getting her reps in. Like all on air personnel do. In due time, she will get better.

  20. Bailey is a great hard working reporter. I like almost all the KTVU staff, especially Steve Paulson, Sal Castaneda, and many others!

Sal and Steve have a great and fun relationship, they are always kidding each other.

This site constantly trashes young women reporters. Sad!
