It may have been a nothing burger but what was discussed? Did they give an overview of performance? Did they go over the top 3 improvements to come? Or the top 3 previous wins? What was the meeting about?
Meetings are a TOTAL waste of time. I left the TV NoozBiz several years ago for a communications director gig. I absolutely LOVE my new career (better pay, better benefits, no "breaking news" on weekends, all holidays off, etc.) BUT--the downside is the inordinate amount of meetings being called! UGH. Meetings that could easily be subbed for an email...a phone call...or simply dropping my office (yeah, i have an office!). The worst offenders are middle-manager types...who get to live out their big-boy/big-girl fantasies by calling these meetings...and running them....all for, "OK, Mike, give us a progress report on X-Y-Z." "Great--any one have any questions for Mike?" The REAL big boys/girls...the TRUE big dogs...don't call meetings. They don't ask for progress reports: they give you a date, and you're expected to have it done. I like this style.
Orozco can't have been passed over when nobody above her has left in the last 10+ years. Someone has to slot in above her for her to be passed over. Hasn't happened.

"lunch was yummy. They bought sandwiches," There's no such thing as a free lunch.
ReplyDeleteOkay, Dr. Friedman...
DeleteWhen I worked at KRON 99 percent of their meetings were nothingburgers. And they rarely catered in those days. So these folks got a bonus.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the business KRON! Ike's Love & Sandwiches. I bet Daria Folsom wants a sandwich named after her. Maybe "Daria's Top Banana"?
ReplyDeleteGot to be careful. That Ike's Dirty Sauce can get all over your fingers and anything else that gets close.
DeleteOh Ike, spread that Dirty Sauce around!
DeleteWhen I ran a business I seldom had meetings. They're a waste of time. This proves it.
ReplyDeletePep talks are for schmucks. Free baloney sandwich and a cupcake? Is it somebody’s birthday?
ReplyDeleteAs far as “nothing burgers”, where’s the beef?🤷🏼♂️

ReplyDeleteSo, they opened Al Capone's Vault and Richardo Liebvera brought us the news!
