Paul Deanno was a great guy as a Chief Meteorologist. Knew how to do the weather in a precise & crisp way & really got to the point of the forecast. Plus great personality.
Paul Heggen currently is also good in terms of the way he presents the information. Crisp & gets to the point as well. Equally as kind and humble but his personality is kind of missing and he can come across as looking sad, concerned or worried. But he is kind. Wish Deanno was Heggen’s backup and did part time in KPIX on the weekends, but guess he won’t come back because well $$ was the main issue that drove him away.
Having spent some time in Chicago in Winter, the chill there can go straight to your bones even if you are well attired for Cold-Cold. Pretty sure when he gets to LA he will think he died and went to Heaven - until he gets in traffic.
I liked Paul Deanno a lot, and Rich, you wroteat leas once that he might have been a candidate for an anchor slot at KPIX. It would have worked. Whatever he does, I think he'll do it well.
Both Pauls are great; Deanno & Heggen. Wish Deanno was actually LA’s Chief Meteorologist so that in a segment like California’s Drought crisis they can have Heggen, Deanno & Merianos (from Sacramento) talk about these conditions.
No we don't.
ReplyDeleteWho wouldn't want to go steps up in market size from SF to Chicago to LA?
ReplyDeleteThe GREAT Paul Deannu???
ReplyDeleteThanks for that report, Rich. Hope Paul enjoys, and does well, in LA.
ReplyDeleteOr he simply got a better offer in a bigger market
ReplyDeleteThat's great news for Deano. Glad he's back here where he can enjoy life.

ReplyDeleteI don't blame him for leaving that weather, but enjoy the smog.
ReplyDeleteHardly any smog in LA now due to the newer automobiles. I live in South OC now and it isn't smog-gy at all.
Delete^San Fernando is still pretty smog. South O.C. is as far from L.A. you can get w/o being in S.D. county.

DeleteThanks! I'll watch Paul when I visit, great talent.
ReplyDeletePaul you will be missed in Chitown.
ReplyDeleteI was sad he left Chicago. He did a fabulous job here. It took me weeks to get an answer from NBC Chicago as to where he was.
ReplyDeleteSorry Paul is gone I will miss him dearly
ReplyDeleteMiss Paul Deanno. He reported the weather in a professional and friendly manner.
ReplyDeleteI will miss Paul. He did have a little bitty incident on camera before he left or maybe you can say he was off camera, when he should have been on.
ReplyDeletePaul was very good with his friendly approach & delivery of the forecast. He will be missed!!
ReplyDeleteI will miss you were the best.
