Either a well-orchestrated good-bye (by Fox to Frank) or purely a legal parting of ways. Or neither and just a rumor or word on the street but I'm guessing it's real. I'll check.
If I was pulling down that type of scarole you'd never hear a peep out of me and whatever stupid shit they wanted me to read off the teleprompter I'd do with no emotion or opinion and as far as caring about what people thought or wrote about me I wouldn't care. You blew it Frank, that couldn't be easy but the best of luck to you and hopefully where ever you end up it's peaceful and you can simply go on with ease.
He has no one to blame but himself. I guess he didn't pay attention to George Watson. What a poor example he has set for his daughters. Making all that money and didn't appreciate those of us who make half that and show up sober to work everyday and certainly don't drink and drive.
Hopefully losing his drivers license for a year with no job prospects will sober him up to get off Match.com and get into rehab.
An old wise Owl I know thinks KTVU and Fox should consider having Badge wearing, uniformed Security Guards present at that meeting. Oh, and perhaps it would be prudent to film and tape the meeting too. Just in case certain people were not quite ready to say Goodbye.
It would make sense for both sides to work out a graceful public end to the Somerville era. If he's ready to acknowledge he has a problem, they can say he's "stepping away from the news business for the time being to work on myself" or something along those lines, and the station can thank him for his many years of service and say he'll "always be a part of the KTVU family" (in a totally non-contractual way). That way, they don't have to airbrush him out of station history, and he positions himself as someone who at least may be employable in some capacity in the future.
They're going to take him out for drinks and a fond farewell.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Too soon

DeleteYou dont get severance when fired with cause
Delete> You dont get severance when fired with cause
DeleteThey could still give him something just to be nice.
But nah! That doesn't sound like Fox.
"You dont get severance when fired with cause"
DeleteThey could give him a gift card from BevMo.

ReplyDeleteHe has to get all his belongings and final check SOMEHOW - right?
ReplyDeleteRidiculous. Lawyers (from both sides) wouldn't allow it
