NBC Bay Area has this image as a fun-loving unit but believe me, there is a TON of TROUBLE in paradise. The EGOs have run amok and that's just the start. Raj has begun to think he's never wrong and that he's removed from criticism. The truth is when you begin to make little notes and let the key cog know that you're not immune from ripping, there's bound to be issues and NOW Raj has seen and HEARD from the natives who are PISSED and they SOON will BARK!
Hello Janelle!
Don't invite Mathai and Terry McSweeney to the Christmas party.
Ditto Raj and Janelle
Do you know the way to San Jose? Figuratively.
Nopey dope.
I live in SJ and bumped into (figuratively) Raj at a local downtown market about two years ago. While standing in line he was behind me. I know who he is, but I said I have seen you before, he had this smug smirk and said, "yeah." I played along and replied, yeah, you're the ex professional cricket player, right? I don't know why that was the first thing that came to mind but his look was priceless. I think his ego was mildly bruised and I found it to be a bit amusing. Some of these folks really seem to think the sun sets and rises with them.

DeleteThat's why 90 percent of them go into the business. Those who really care about *journalism* used to go into print...I don't know what they do now, probably work as Uber drivers. I've worked with many of the anchors Rich has profiled here, and they mostly have incredible egos and think they are so important rather than models who read words interns and assistants and writers research and script for them. A monkey could do their job, but they didn't get the memo.
I ran into Raj at Fry's electronics several years ago. I too said "you look familiar!" and he lightened up. But then I said, "Hey...great job setting up our filters and I-T rewiring. You I-T guys ROCK!"
DeleteHe was crushed.
I've run into Raj many time as we go to the same Safeway. He is always very pleasant to people.
ReplyDeleteJanelle!!! What I'm I missing here. She's nothing to look at and I don't think she's that talented. She's lucky to have what she has. Keep your mind on your own business and do your job.
ReplyDeleteGood to be friends with the ND
DeleteThis time of year, I miss Gene Burns and his annual Christmas cookie show on KGO radio.
ReplyDeleteKate Kelly. Damn. No comment.
ReplyDeleteI could never be a critic, they both sound good to me. Although, I have to pat myself on my shoulder, I had thought Frank Somerville, was just horrible stumbling over his words reading the teleprompter before he got fired, not talking about the one episode, but when he came back and I knew that was the end of him.
