Giants Broadcaster Jon Miller Misses Wade Game-Winning HR --No Video

It was a very singular, "Oops" moment for Jon Miller.

The GIANTS pbp broadcaster missed Lamonte Wade Jr's game-winning home run in Saturday's game vs. the A's in Oakland.

Miller, broadcasting across the bay at Oracle Park, (Covid restrictions) lost the video feed. "I apologize," Miller told KNBR listeners. "What a moment for (Lamonte Wade Jr) I just wish I could have seen it live."

  1. Something like 40K people at the game and there are covid restrictions with the announcers? Is Miller one of those anti-vaxxers?

    1. All the announcers are sitting at their home parks for away games. It's not exclusively Miller. I've found that to be a bit strange and don't know why there are still doing it that way.

  2. But I bet he looked good in his octopi shirt calling that homer! (Even though the great Christine Craft doesn’t like his shirts)

    1. Wait. Christine doesn’t like Miller’s shirts??? That’s too bad. I usually like her opinion but she’s wrong on this.

    1. I don’t think that’s right Cedric. I think the issue was she didn’t like Miller wearing them. Felt it was unprofessional. Not that she was wearing them. RL also didn’t like Miller wearing a hat.

  4. @4.58 is correct. I don't know the reason, but I watch a lot of baseball on the MLB network and the visiting team's announcers and in some cases even the home team announcers are still not broadcasting from the ballpark.

  5. Was Lee Hammer running the video?
