I agree I loved the Heartbreak Kid. When he and Lila are driving to Florida he finds out more and more about her, and her less than desirable habits, eating in bed etc. He doesn't say much, but you can tell from his facial expression, that he is thinking "What did I marry and how do I get out of it". Tried to watch the remake with Ben Stiller could not hold my attention.
I went on Utube yesterday and watch most of the move again. Many commenters thought Lenny (Grodin) was a real jerk, the way he treated Lila, I suppose he was, but I found her character very annoying. By the way I'm female.
I miss his talk show from almost 30 years ago. I bet RL will tell you all that even the late Mr. Grodin at his worst would supersede most of today's Bay radio talk personalities.
I remember watching him in Taking Care of Business playing the rich guy and Clifford with Martin Short.
ReplyDeleteHeartbreak kid one of my favorite movie! See it!!
