Thursday Figures --Sarah and Vinnie Millions --SF Giants' Fab4 Million Buck Club Too; Except Flemming

Alice, Sarah and Vinnie in Radioland - SFGate

SARAH AND VINNIE on Alice --F M/97.3 here make a lot of money --Sarah alone over a million bucks meaning FM radio isn't dead yet.

*YOU always wanted to know what the 4 amigos --Jon Miller, Dave Flemming, Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper make and now you know: "Kruik and Kuip" both make a million bucks. Miller, earning a million too, much of it through his past ESPN affiliation. Although Miller is a superb play-by-play man, at a million per, a relative bargain.

No, Dave Flemming, isn't in the million-dollar club, "Flemm" makes around $300K a year, not bad for the antiseptic one with decent pipes but overall too vanilla for my taste. But that's me.

*By the way, Larry Baer, and Larry Baer alone handles the salaries for the Fab4 in case you were wondering and now you know. The.rest.of.the.story.

  1. At what point does Flemming start asking for a raise, given the high praise that he has received from several prominent local and national announcers over the years?

    1. I like the guys on the radio side -- Miller and Flemming.
They are more objective. Kruk and Kuip are homers and grossly overpaid. Their noses are perpetually brown from dealing with Larry Baer. Other than K&K, I don't know anyone that likes Larry.

    2. I like both duos. You can't have a more decent, salt-of-the-earth guy than Kruk and that's not a hit in Kruip or anyone else.

  2. Larry Baer can go piss up a rope. Loath that turd with a passion.

    1. Agree. Struggles with his wife and she loses her balance and falls down. What decent man would walk away and leave his wife lying on the ground? Inquiring minds want to know
      -- especially Larry's kids....

  3. Sarah and Vinnie are trash radio. You need a brain enema old man.

    1. Typical ageist response. Rich knows the industry. You may not like them, but a million a year versus your ageist response? A million a year wins. Easily. Go back to your ageist be tunnel vision.

  4. We have more important issues then one-dimensional narcissistic grown adults that are overpaid playing a child's game.

    1. Would you call intellectual Kareem Abdul-Jabbar one-dimensional? Although long-retired and from the NBA, he's just one of many pro athletes who is known for much more than being a superb and, in his case, legendary athlete. (I was a fan of his when he was Lew Alcindor Jr., and then took the Bucks to the NBA Championship. Broke my heart when he became a Laker, my late brother's favorite team.) In this era of increasing childhood obesity, youth need all the role models in pro sports to help inspire them. While there are some bad apples in the pros, the vast majority of pro athletes do a lot for their communities and esp. for youth. Plus, it's a FREE market. You don't have to like it. It's part of the American way of life. Ever heard of movie stars? Musicians? News anchors! National talk-show hosts who spew vile on TV and radio?

    2. I knew a kid who was a huge Abdul-Jabbar fan. He would frequently sit on his ass and watch Kareem, while stuffing his face with food and drink. His vocal cords, digestive system, blood pressure, and remote control finger got good workouts, though.

Sadly, the outcome was not good. His Kareem and Krispy Kreme obsessions led to hypertensive extremes, and a slam dunk early grave.

  5. Dave is the straight man to the more comical Miller, Kruk, and Kuip.

  6. One question for Larry, Have you stopped beating your wife yet?

  7. The 60-game West only season will really help Kruk.

    1. I've been worried about him the past few years. If I'm not mistaken, he has a degenerative nerve disease. He remains an inspiration for me because he never gives up and battles it without public complaint. Plus, he's just one of the good guys. Will be sad to see him go. Hopefully, not for a long time.

  8. The less Kruk the better.....

  9. Larry Baer was out with his wife swearing his side piece would never call him again and while they were out she called. His wife Pam demanded to see the phone he tried to grab the phone and she fell out of the seat. The guy is the ugliest man alive and proclaims to be a lover boy

Rich, Don't go easy on your people, let it all out.

  10. These guys sure get a lot of time off for the money they make. For a million (plus per diems) they should work every game. Stop with the "on assignment" bull.
