ON KCBS this morning, more BS content --sports in this situation, designed to sound "live" when it was, in actuality, a taped report from Friday morning. It not only sounded fake and untimely, it was presented as live and direct by a poor anchor in studio taking part in the on-air fraud and fraud it was.
Curtis Kim, a veteran Bay Area radio anchor, I'm sure, was repulsed, because it was on his watch, that here he was tossing to sports anchor, Steve Bitker, who in reality, was probably sleeping in his Alameda home. Furthermore, Bitker's fake, taped report was OLD NEWS that was from Friday and sounding quite Sunday morning stale, which it was. Screw you KCBS management --and corporate owner, Entercom too.
It's a crazy world. It's pandemic central. There's lot of people being fired and not just now, but in the future too if you saw my Saturday evening post. I GET IT. There's little ads being sold and the money is nowhere to be seen but what happened to common sense? Why screw with your audience which is dwindling by the day. Why create falsehoods? If you run a fake report then you're fucking with your loyal base. Why not just run a fresh report from the network? Or better yet, why not use a taped report from Joe Salvatore? Wait a minute! Entercom/KCBS let Salvatore go.
Entercom, worth billions, saved a few hundreds bucks a day and continues to mess with its staff and listeners. That's a shame. A real farce.
And I'll call them out.
I doubt if Curtis Kim is a "veteran Bay Area radio anchor"....although I know virtually nothing about him. Except that he is VERY frustrating to listen to, and I'm not really sure why he is an on-air "personality"!! My feeling is that at certain time-spots, during these trying times, KCBS "management" has no one else to put on the air! Kim is abysmal....probably only doing what he's told to do...maybe not even aware of the Bitker thing.

DeleteIf you know virtually nothing about him then how can you doubt that he is a veteran Bay Area radio anchor? You make no sense. And if he is very frustrating to listen to, change the freaking station.

He has worked in the Bay Area as a reporter and anchor for over 40 years at KNBR and K101 before coming to KCBS

DeleteBitker strikes me as self-important. He insists on reporting on minor sports like hockey and tennis. What a letdown to listen for sports news at :15 and :45 and get nothing from it.
