A Calming, True Voice of Reason in Chaotic World: KGO Radio News Anchor Kim McCallister

Kim McCallisterYOU MAY HAVE HEARD HER, WAIT! --Of course you've heard her if you listen to KGO Radio on a regular basis. I like her quite a bit and she deserves some acclaim.

Take a listen.

Kim McCallister is a true, real voice of reason. The anchor/reporter has done a lot of work all day, midday and night. She's been on with John Rothmann lately.. Commodity voice? You bet. Here's why.

Mccallister is a solid newswoman. Quite lucid and bright too. In this world of chaos it's cool and tranquil to hear her reassuring voice. I'm not trying to patronize her--in fact, just the opposite. Kim Mcallister often sounds comforting and informative, a literal breath of fresh air. Dignified and humane, it's always a treasure when she's broadcasting on KGO.

  2. Great shout out for Rich on John Rothmann show right now!! And not the first time either. Way to go Rich!!

Also, when I was a PIO for a south bay police department in the early to mid 2000's, I would connect with Kim early in her career. ALWAYS thought she was nice to talk with - pleasant, polite, professional - she just wanted to get info on the significant cases our agency was working. Other reporters I would speak with regularly were always trying to play GOTCHA. For some reason I will never forget we had a homicide near Shoreline amphitheatre after a concert. Dude was shot not to far towards town after the concert let out. Kim called and I will always remember I was standing with my supervisor probably 30 feet from said dead dude. Had such a pleasant conversation with her giving her an update.

  3. Kim is great and has a great voice. Furthermore, she sure sounds like she knows what's happening. Should have her own show instead of Nikki Mudoro who is boring as fuck and immature. But I'm glad she's away from racist Chimp Franklin who said libraries are for the homeless....oh, that's why they are opened, for the homeless. Try finding an available computer at a library....all the homeless people are using them....NOT.7

  4. Chip Franklin just can't win. I have heard several callers accusing him of hating white people. If he said libraries are for the homeless, how is that racist? No one race has a lock on being homeless. Fact is it is a place where homeless can go and get away from the elements, so he might just have stated facts. Haven't been to a library in awhile. I have seen a few homeless people there the few times I have been to the Concord library. I think you are reading to much into his comment. Chip is quite liberal and sympathetic towards the homeless. Does not mean he can be critical of them once in awhile.

    1. Franklin is annoying. Always interrupting guests, callers. Motor-mouth. Thinks he's funny. He's not.

  5. Kim does have a great voice. Another great voice from the past was Shann Nix. And her replacement Karel, not a good voice.
